The Hoya 55mm Neutral Density (NDX8) 0.9 Filter has several uses and offers the possibility to achieve otherwise unachievable results. ND filters appear gray and reduce the amount of light reaching the film. They have no effect on color balance.
Multi-coated to minimize reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting.

Comments about Hoya 55mm Neutral Density (NDX8) 0.9 Filter:
The Neutral Density filter was purchased for an upcoming trip to Alaska. It fits perfectly on my 55mm sony lens. But it did not divide the filter as I anticipated, but rather is a complete ND filter with no transition. I was searching for a "graduated" filter. Either way I will find a time and place for it along with other items in my case.
