Pelican 1120 Case with Foam (Yellow)
The Pelican 1120 Case with Foam (Yellow) is an unbreakable, watertight, airtight, dustproof, chemical-resistant and corrosion-proof hard case used to carry any kind of equipment that needs to be protected from the elements. It is made of Ultra-High Impact structural copolymer that makes it extremely strong and durable. It has a 0.25" (6.4mm) neoprene o-ring, easy-open double throw latches that seal perfectly. It includes an automatic pressure equalization valve for quick equalization after changes in atmospheric pressure. It is carried by a large handle that enables a person to use two hands for heavy loads.
This case has a 3-piece foam set interior.

Got this box for a LaCie rugged drive. It fits the drive and three cables (firewire, USB and USB power) perfectly. I feel the next size up would be to big for just a hard drive and cables.

We had some usb to dmx converters that kept going bad on us so we decided to protect it better. I have two large pelican cases for a projector and a camera and they've never let me down. This is a great case with the same construction and a really nice price.

Purchased six of these to protect electronic gas detectors used by fire department crews. Firefighters can be pretty tough on equipment but these protect the expensive electronics with flying colors. Great product.

Pelican cases are strong and durable. This case seals tightly and includes a one-way valve for purging water from the interior. A nice feature of this specific model is the customizeable foam interior that can be cut to fit any component.
Trouble-shooting: Cutting the foam can be tedious so I recommend first: measure the exact shape of the object you want to store in this case. Next: cut out the foam to the full depth of the case, minding the fact that there is an extra pad of foam on the very bottom which you should not slice through. Finally, measure the depth of your object and carefully slice through the foam horizontally.
Note: This foam seems to absorb air moisture well enough that a silica (desiccant) packet is not required.
Caution: I have not had this case exposed to high temperatures for any extended period of time so I do not know what the interior temperature gets up to. That being said, expect high interior temperatures due to thigh seal, insulation, and thick shell.
