The Baltic Birch 4 x 5" Pinhole Camera from Lensless features a 2" lens. Lensless Cameras are constructed of different woods. Each model has a tiny hole (1/64" or smaller) precisely drilled in the front panel. The shutter is simply a small hinged metal plate that the photographer swings up and down to begin and end the exposure. The imitated focal length is determined by the length of the camera. The format is determined by the size of the back of the camera, which accepts the film holder. Since it is designed to accept a sheet film holder, there is no need to load the camera in the dark.

This is a Baltic Birch, 4 x 5" Pinhole Camera, with a focal length equivalent of 50mm, which is a super wide angle lens for this format. Average exposure in bright, noon-day sun is 4 seconds, using 400 ISO film.

No Bells or Whistles
Simplify photography to its basics: Composition and Exposure.

Depth of field is of no concern; everything in front of the camera is equally in focus.

Comments about Lensless 4 x 5" Pinhole Camera (Baltic Birch):

Fantastic pictures. A little dark around the edges (normal for pinhole cameras). But overall, just a great little camera. I could not build it for less money, so it is also a great bargain. I'm buying more cameras from Lensless.

Stick it on a tripod and use the f154 aperture and let 'er rip.

It is more fun than a greased pig at a Polish wedding (and I've been to one or two.)

Comments about Lensless 4 x 5" Pinhole Camera (Baltic Birch):

I made a pin hole camera myself before.
It's cheeper, but i wanted to have more sturdy one.
            This is a nice camera.
Since you don't need many control skills for pin hole cameras, this is heavy enough for the windy days.
I felt that the wood is a little bit stinky.
I hope it will be gone soon.
