Comments about Lowepro Off Trail 2 Camera Beltpack:
I, like just about every photographer, tend to carry too much equipment. I never have liked to use a backpack, although it is a very necessary part of your equipment. While visiting NYC, I shopped at B&H for something to use where I could access more than one lens but would not be so heavy. I found this bag. It fits around the waist so there is no weight on your neck or shoulders. It holds a camera with lens, plus two other lenses, one on each side. There are pockets with zippers for batteries and cards. When I am not using the camera, I can just place it back in the center pocket and it rests comfortably there. No swinging camera. If the bag with the contents is too heavy feeling on the waist, alone, then there is an across the body and shoulder strap that evens up the load. I am going to try to replace my backpack with this bag when hiking. The only complaint is that the zippered top is hard to close if it is not lined up just right. That takes some getting used to. Also, depending on the lens, the lens can be a little hard to get out of the side pockets. On the upside, this means that they are securely in place and safe. In short, I like this bag.

I bought some other pouches from LowePro for my wider lens. It's compatible with many LowePro accesories.
I use it for day out in the city taking photographs.

Comments about Lowepro Off Trail 2 Camera Beltpack:
Just went hiking in the Smokies and this bag easily held all my lenses (3) & filters and was easy to carry. I carried my tripod & camera separately. If I put the camera in the bag it gets a little too heavy for the waist and my backpack works better.

Comments about Lowepro Off Trail 2 Camera Beltpack:
Use this while snowshoeing. Carries my camera with lens attached and 3 other lenses in the side pouches. Also room to carry filters etc. It pulls around to the front while I'm shooting allowing me full access to every thing. It is longer than the Off Trail 1 so it isn't as comfortable to use in front while walking the trade off for its larger size and more room.

Comments about Lowepro Off Trail 2 Camera Beltpack:
So far all I have is a Canon xsi and the ef 24-70mm lens and this bad works great. Appears to be plenty of room when I get the battery grip and case appears to be big enough for my next lens the 70-200mm.
Wearing the bag around your waist feels comfortable and the included sling makes it easy to carry it over your shoulder.

Well designed for comfort and quick access. Will replace my backpack for most general use. It's not big enough to transport all my gear, but that's not its intended purpose.

Comments about Lowepro Off Trail 2 Camera Beltpack:
It can take a Canon 5D, a 70-200 2.8L, a 24-70 2.8L, a Sigma 12-24 EX, a Canon 2X Teleconverter and a few accessories, but extremely tightened.
In the lens cases the 24-70 2.8L fits, but without the hood ...The Sigma 12-24 EX fits too, but the lens cap holder got stuck to the bottom.
I give it 5 stars because is not fault of the product what you try to put in there.
Excellent construction.

I have the Lowepro slingshot AW but needed a belt bag that I could take on a hike and this fits the bill.

Comments about Lowepro Off Trail 2 Camera Beltpack:
I do alot of youth sports/event photography and keeping my gear in a backpack made it slow to access necessary equipment. Because of this I would miss photo opportunities.
With the Offtrail 2 I'm able to keep my D200/MB-D200 combo with AF-S 80-200mm f2.8, with HB-7 lens hood reversed, in the center pouch and place my AF50mm f1.8, AF85mm f1.8 in one pouch and an SB-600, or other lenses, in the second pouch. The fit of the camera and zoom is pretty snug, with or without the included padding. I tend to keep quick release plates (Bogen 3157N) on my cameras and zooms with tripod collars and at times the QR on the camera gets caught on the back end of the pouch as I place it back into the center pouch. This is an easy remedy, I remove it.
The side pouches, with a diameter of 3", are perfect for my f1.8 primes and variable aperture zooms, AF-S18-70mmDX and AF28-105mm. I don't believe they will work for the larger "fast" zooms i.e 17-35 f2.8, 28-70 f2.8, and telephoto primes, 180mm, 200mm, 300mm, etc... Forutnately the systems flexibilty does allow for sidepouch upgrades, not only replacing them but also adding.
The front mesh pocket is perfect for additional batteries (Nikon EN-EL3E) and the zippered pocket contains my additional CF cards, generally four to six 2gb cards.
One thing to keep in mind. The system is not water proof. It will protect in a light drizzle until the material gets saturated.
The system does a very good job of distributing weight around your hips but having the adjustable strap does come in handy relieving pressure on your lower back (caused by the buckle) as the day wears on.
Overall I love the flexibility of the system. I own a large backpack and would carry my gear in this pack. Now, I'm able to use my Offtrail 2 in combination with a smaller backpack, using the latter as a "storage bin" of additional equipment but keeping my primary items in the Offtrail. This has increased my mobility and made photography alot easier.
Good Investment.

Very useful piece of gear. Compact and reasonably roomy. Easy to swap other Lowepro items to customize to your gear. Not quite big enough for D2/D3 and big lenses.

Comments about Lowepro Off Trail 2 Camera Beltpack:
I use it for shorter hikes where I do not need a day pack, as it interferes with the bottom of a pack.
I also bought a water bottle carrier but found that I did not like that much weight (1 liter bottle)on the unpadded front portion of the belt.
Which probably means that I may not like a real heavy lens on it either. I use the lens cases to carry ligher items like a stuffable rain jacket.

Comments about Lowepro Off Trail 2 Camera Beltpack:
After finding I use either my 80-200 f2.8 or 18-50 f2.8 90% of the time, I decided not to carry my Tenba bag everywhere. This bag carries my camera, above mentioned lenses and an sb800 flash perfectly. Especially useful for wandering around with a 4 year old.
