I am a Canon guy and I bought two of these. One for a Canon 24-105mm f4L IS and one for the Canon 16-35mm f2.8L-II to replace the lens-sacks that Canon include. The 24-105mm fits nicely in this model with the lens hood reversed and caps and filter in place. The 16-35mm fits snugly without the hood (it is too wide), but I was aware of this and decided to carry the hood separately rather than use a larger case.
This is a quality product that provides excellent all-around padded protection for your lenses, although it is not a hard case and I wouldn’t play football with it. It has a sturdy belt-loop, if you are into that, and dual zippers with tug-tabs. It should be rain-resistant, but I have not tested that. Be prepared for this case to be bulkier in your kit than the sacks that come with many Canon lenses, but the added protection is worth it for me.

I use this for my 10 - 22mm. It's wide enough for the lens, but the lens hood doesn't fit at all.

Great bag for the Nikon 85mm 1.4D With lens hood screwed on. I love the Lowepro double Velcro belt strap. perfect for carrying lens on belt. It is a bit big, but it fits the whole 85mm 1.4D just right.

Comments about Lowepro Lens Case 1W - for Short, Large-Diameter Lens (Black):
I most often carry two zoom lenses, one wide angle - short telephoto and one short - long telephoto, with one mounted on the camera in a Lowepro Toploader case, and the other stored in this lens case. I really like the fact that it attaches to the camera case by Lowepro's sliplock attachment, which is very secure and holds the lens case close and tight to the camera case. The zippers with the large pulls are easy to access and use, and the case provides decent protection. On the downside, the case is larger in diameter than either of my usual lenses, so they tend to fit in rather loosely in that dimension, which allows them to shift around more than I'd like. And Lowepro doesn't make another case that is between this one and one that is significantly longer. While the smaller of my two lenses fits in rather well in the length dimension, the other fits just a little too tightly. It just seems that the case is a little oddly shaped, being either a little too wide for lenses of the length it fits, or a little too short for the diameter of the lenses it fits, depending on how you look at it. Other than that it is a great lightweight lens case.

Comments about Lowepro Lens Case 1W - for Short, Large-Diameter Lens (Black):
I purchased this case to serve for two different lenses; the Canon EF 20mm f2.8 USM with lens shade reversed, and the Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM with lens shade reversed. It's not too roomy for the 20mm prime and fits the zoom lens perfectly. Like most Lowepro's products, it's a well thought out design in every detail, made of quality materials and with good workmanship.

Seems well padded, but haven't dropped it with a lens inside yet. Fits Canon 15-85 and 28-135 with lenshoods reversed. They don't fit in normal diameter cases.
