I use this case for the Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS. As stated in other reviews, the case is somewhat bulky. I expected this when I ordered because it is very well padded - better protection than the case that Canon supplied. Also, as in other reviews, the lens is a snug fit with the lens hood reversed and the tripod collar on. Again, this was expected, since I measured the hood and checked the interior dimensions of the case before ordering.
I also purchased a Lenscoat set to install on the lens. One unexpected problem that I ran into is that when the Lenscoat cover is installed on the lens hood, it does not go into the case. It probably would work if the Lenscoat had a slick outer surface, but the neoprene binds on the inside of the case and tries to peel the cover off of the hood. This is not really a big deal for me. I bought the black Lenscoat set and the hood is black, so I will just leave the hood cover off. Otherwise, every time the lens was used, the cover would need to be installed to use and removed to stow.
Overall, I am quite satified with the case. I use it with the S&F deluxe belt and have not had problems as yet.

Got it for my Canon 70-200. With hood reversed and tripod ring attached it's a squeeze. With no hood or tripod ring, lens rattles around inside. With no tripod ring and hood reversed, it fits. With hood mounted, lens sticks out the top of the case an inch or two. You cannot close it with the hood mounted. The cinch straps don't really cinch onto the sliplock, they just tighten around the whole case, making the tight fit on the lens even tighter. Don't try to run with it attached; it will bounce all over the place and beat your leg to bits. Lens cap pouch in lid doesn't keep the caps if you work with the lid open; I lost one cap before realizing it was useless.Doesn't have any place to store the shoulder strap. This case, as part of a system, should have the ability to customize where it rides on the belt. It does not. You have only the low gunslinger setting, which is less than comfortable.Overall I would not recommend this case.

This bag is high quality, built solid with plenty of padding inside to keep my Sigma 70-200mm F/2.8 lens fully protected. It is quite bulky to attach to a bag or belt, but its a small price to pay for the extra padding. Includes a built in shoulder strap which is nice and if you have the right bag and you can use the compression straps to attach.

A very good solution if you want to carry a long zoom lens around while traveling. Offers good protection and I was able to also carry the lens with the hood in reverse.

while my long zoom came with a high quality manufacturer-branded case, i bought this case to attach to a Lowepro bag, in order to reduce the number of things hanging off my body. It isnt a perfect fit for the lens - I couldnt expect that - but it does its intended job exceedingly well.

Great for protecting a large lens, and nice wide opening makes for easy access. Sturdy backstrap for attaching to your favorite bag, toploader, or gear bag. Cinch straps keep the lens from moving around during transport but stays clear when you want to be able to pull the lens in and out quickly. Sized well for my Nikon 300mm f/4.

Being 5'2" and 100 lbs I dont like to carry a big camera bag. Thought this would be great to strap to my belt and carry a smaller bag. Also thought it to be great while walking long distance and need use use my hands.I still plan to use it for the walking scenario but it is a bit too bulky for everyday usage. Fits my Nikon 80-200 with collar and tripod plate nicely. Lots of padding and secure.

I bought this to hold my Tokina 100-300/4 lens and the lens fits perfectly (with hood reversed). Also, I can leave my Manfrotto tripod plate attached and the lens still fits nicely. The shoulder strap is a nice feature that I didn't think I'd need, but have since used it every time I take out case - makes it so easy to carry a fairly large and heavy lens.
I love the straps on the outside and have used them to hold my small filter wallet (the belt runs through the back of the wallet) and I also attach my Lenspen to the belt for easy access. All in all - it's a great product and I can see myself buying a few more of various sizes.

I purchased this case for my Nikon Nikkor 70-200mm F/2.8 VR lens and it fits perfect. Fits like a glove even with the tripod color and well protected. I haven't taken out in the field yet, but I believe it will work great and will not have any worries on durability.
