Comments about Domke Photogs Convertible Jacket/Vest, X-Large (Khaki):
I bought this jacket specifically for a spring trip to Japan; it is slightly heavier than I would have liked, but it is very well made and is sure to be very useful. The best part is the zip-off sleeves; it's very easy to remove them and to put them back on again. As another reviewer mentioned, the size tends to be on the large end of the range, but that makes the jacket extra roomy and comfortable.

Buying clothing online is very rarely a satisfactory experience.
I searched stores in Los Angeles for a good PHOTOG VEST. The choices were limited and not all that great.
Because of B&H PHOTO's incredible Customer Service and Exchange/Refund policies, I bought the DOMKE VEST that seemed best for me. It arrived and it turned out that XXL was too large for me (and I'm 6'4" tall).
My family and I had planned a trip to New York. B&H gave me an instant RMA. We took the vest back to their SUPER Store, found the PERFECT one for me and I wore it out of the store. I haven't taken it off since - though my wife is urging me to throw it in the washing machine...
B&H Photo is the undisputed BEST PHOTO VIDEO store in the world.

My mission, to carry as much photo gear onto a tiny plane flying from Nairobi to the Masai Mara... total luggage limit was 15kg including carry on, and they weighed every piece of luggage.
Enter the smugglers jacket, AKA. Photogs Convertible Jacket/Vest, by Domke.
I carried a Nikon D3 body, with L brackets, in each of the two huge front outside pockets and a few other bits and peices, enough to bring my carry on bags under the limit.
I then pretty much replaced having a bag with me each day with having the jacket with me each day, it carries a lot of bits and peices easily.
Drawbacks? It is quite long, because it is a Parka length design, i am 6 foot and the pockets for your hands on the sides are a bit low for me.
The sleeves can be a real fiddle to get back on.
Can be quite warm, even with sleeves off.
No Epaulettes.
But overall a GREAT product, VERY comfortable to wear right out of the box, Domke products are GREAT overall and this is just another example.

Comments about Domke Photogs Convertible Jacket/Vest, X-Large (Khaki):
This jacket has removable sleeves and a hidden hood. There are numerous pockets for a variety of things. It does run very large. I purchased this jacket for use in northern winter climates as well as the desert so it fits well over a sweater but rather loose in the desert. I think it is just a bit long in the body and fits more like a carcoat than a vest. In one respect, that puts the weight of lenses, etc. below the waist which is good but items do tend to bang around your thighs as you move.
