It's great to know you can Purchase a replacement filter case when you loose yours. It is not expensive and most won't stock them because theres no profit in it. [...]

Bare minimum quality.
.
For the amount of money these empty, thin walled replacement cases cost, you might consider buying a new filter just to get a proper case with padding.

Comments about B+W Plastic Filter Case D:
These B+W filter cases are quite sturdy, stack easily, and make filter storage easier because of their square shape and flat sides, but how much would it add to the cost to put a little bit of thin foam in the case to pad the filter? Not much I'm guessing. Wish they would do that.

Comments about B+W Plastic Filter Case D:
Good small box to protect your filters while traveling. The D size fits a Canon drop in polarizer.
This box does not come anymore with foam liner.
The selling price is way too high for a piece of plastic that shouldn't cost more than a few cents to mass product.

Comments about B+W Plastic Filter Case D:
Bought a bunch of these several yrs ago, just now received a new batch. The quality has declined - doesn't appear to be as sturdy. Before, they included foam pieces to help cushion and keep the filters from rattling around inside. No cushions now so will have to find something to take the place of the cushion.[...]

Comments about B+W Plastic Filter Case D:
This case would be good for protecting a lens when it is being shipped or stored. But it is hard to open quickly so I use other ways to keep my filters handy.
But I have found this case handy for carrying AA batteries!

Comments about B+W Plastic Filter Case D:
I think a good idea would be to include a foam insert with perferations to make the correct size for your filter rather than just the plastic box...more protection for your high end filters...as it is I have to wrap mine in a soft cloth for extra protection.

Comments about B+W Plastic Filter Case D:
I have B+W filters which came with cases. In order to improve neatness in my roller and sling bags, I purchased additional filter cases to store other brands of costly filters. This standardizes what I use and improves storage. In my opinion, the cost of these plastic boxes is too high. That is the only reason I gave them only 3 stars.

It's a fine case. It's lightweight plastic and exactly what I was looking for except for the lack of inserts. Two layers of corrugated cardboard were enough to hold my CPL in place.

I bought a filter that came without a case. Which is why I bought this one. Now my filter is protected, visible and stored with my other filters. I am totally delighted with my purchase!

It's just a case but it gives me the option of protecting my filters in the field. I only have to handle one at a time. No delicate balancing while making the change.

Comments about B+W Plastic Filter Case D:
I was looking for tough plastic cases to protect individual filters to arrange inside a zip-up filter bag. This case is better than the ones the filters originally came in except I like the tough plastic Nikon filter protective cases better. (Wish they would sell them separate). The reason is the latter are round on two corners making them easier to slip in and out of the filter bag pockets. The square corners take up space and are hard to slip past fabric dividers without getting hung up. Also, the cases are somewhat hard to open and then take effort to be sure the upper and lower shells are aligned and closed properly. These are certainly better than hard plastic OEM cases, however.

Comments about B+W Plastic Filter Case D:
I wanted a single "hard" filter case.
I use this with my 77mm White Balance filter.
It came with two foam inserts, but I could only use one due to the thickness of the filter.
I like the fact that it is translucent.

I use it to hold my 77mm Heliopan Circular Polarizer. I did expect a little better quality, but, it works and keeps the filter clean and protected. Still looking for a better case though.
