Comments about Rolls HA43 - 4 Output Stereo Headphone Amplifier:
Has both RCA and 1/4 in input jacks on back, with 1/4 or mini headphone jacks on front. Unit is metal, sliders are smooth and noise free. I cant blast the speakers in my apartment, so this unit allow us all to have headphones and we can each adjust our own volume. Last night, two of us watch a movie on the iPad with great headphone sound. Happy I bought the little thing, its worth the price.

Comments about Rolls HA43 - 4 Output Stereo Headphone Amplifier:
I bought this amplifier to to provide additional gain for a pair of Sennheiser HD 424 vintage headphones. These phones are high impedence (1750 ohms) and cannot be driven well by my computer sound card or my Android phone. This box did the trick.
I use the other outputs for connecting additional phones. Very convenient for comparisons etc. Also, having an external physical volume control is useful.
Uses 12 volt power - so its easy to power from the included power supply as well as batteries, car etc. Watch out, the polarity of the barrel connector is reversed from many other devices. The box is polarity protected, but don't take chances.
The circuit design uses opamps and is quite straight forward. The sliders have a stop in the middle. Unity gain perhaps. Not necessary and makes adjusting volume annoying. I end up adjusting the input level so that the slider is above the mid-point. This is a very small negative.
The box has a high(100K) input impedence. This is useful for connecting to line outputs. Can be used to provide headphone connections to devices with fixed level line outputs.
In summary, a simple and effective device.

Comments about Rolls HA43 - 4 Output Stereo Headphone Amplifier:
Rolls makes good stuff, so I always try to buy it. This one is no different. I needed a headphone amp to split a line for some musicians so they could hear a click track in rehearsal. I picked this up and it worked really well. They could each adjust their own volume. I've had problems with other headphone amps not having stereo outputs, which is a big problem. This one is stereo, and works really well, sounds good, and has a nice clean look to it.

I use this for onsite live webcasting of sporting events. Always a lot of noise, so we need head phones to hear each other speak.
Some great features: mini and 1/4 jacks for Headphones, RCA and 1/4 output connectors.
Versitile and quality is great.

It works exactly as I wanted it to. It boosts the volume of my standard headphones from my laptop as much or more than I can use.

Comments about Rolls HA43 - 4 Output Stereo Headphone Amplifier:
We have a high end A/V receiver with only one headphone jack, and two sets of headphes with different impedance levels. Using a passive splitter resulted in one set of headphones being much louder than the other. This amp is the perfect solution. Small (important in an apartment), does the job with no perceptable difference in audio quality, and way less expensive than comparable units. I also like that the output jacks are in front. Makes connecting and disconnecting headphones easy. We mainly use the unit for home theater after our little one has gone to bed, so we can enjoy movies and TV without waking her. The only negative, and this is purely subjective, is that I'd prefer knobs to sliders, but it's a minor quibble. Highly recommended.

Comments about Rolls HA43 - 4 Output Stereo Headphone Amplifier:
Bought this in an emergency to provide remote headphone monitoring for Director, & DP at a small video shoot and couldn't justify the cost of Pro quality Sound Design or PSC units.
Sound quality was excellent though probably not what you would want to use for critical monitoring or mixing situations. Gain was impressive, be careful with the volume if you value your hearing.
The short throw faders have a detent at about halfway. Outputs have dual 1/4" & 1/8" TRS jacks at each channel, 1/4" TRS and RCA in. Rugged steel case is compact, fine for tabletop use but probably not in the mixer bag.
The only feature really missing is optional battery power. I have a new cord on the way to feed it off of my NP-1 brick if necessary.

I use this with my home studio in a box. I works great. Like other users say it would be nice to have a power switch but other than that it's perfect. Good sound, lower price than competitors' models, multiple options for in and out. What more could you ask?

Comments about Rolls HA43 - 4 Output Stereo Headphone Amplifier:
Remarkable nowadays is the solid metal construction of a pro-level audio device for under $50. Things just keep getting better when one begins plugging in cables and finds the versatility of high-quality jacks for both 1/4-inch phone plugs and mini plugs. Equally impressive is the smooth operation of the gain controls, with the mid-point detent as a handy reference point, so it's not necessary to look at the unit when adjusting gain. Most important, the output is superb--nothing added, nothing taken away, just 20db of gain without any distortion.

Compact little headphone amp is quiet enough to get a good monitor, with flexible ins and outs. Don't think you can do any better for 4 channels at that price.

Comments about Rolls HA43 - 4 Output Stereo Headphone Amplifier:
I use this to provide 2+ headphone outputs for multiple listeners of field recording of personal history interviews and high school music performances. There is plenty of gain, and when I turn the gain to zero, it is dead quiet! It has excellent grounding. It is smaller, lighter and less expensive than its competition and I see no compromises for this design.

Comments about Rolls HA43 - 4 Output Stereo Headphone Amplifier:
There are two Rolls HA43 amps: The regular, and the "Pro" which is what this review is for. Be sure you're getting the Pro! It has more features, looks better, and costs the same or less than the regular version.
This is a great little headphone amp, especially to improve a PC's sound quality and volume. It's small, simple, has some great features, and the sound quality is excellent. I can't compare it to the "real" pro headphone amps out there that cost some serious cash, but I can say that my headphones (Sennheiser 280Pro and 555) both sound a lot better with this amp. The bass range on my 280's - which was really weak coming directly from my PC's audio - sounds much more deep, clean, and sharp.
Features:
---------
-- Two stereo INPUT types - RCA or 1/4" TRS
-- Supports FOUR headphones, each with it's own individual volume slider.
-- Each of 4 outputs has two stereo jacks to choose from: 1/4" or 3.5mm
-- It's small, light, and has four thick rubber feet. Safe on any surface.
-- Great sound quality, especially for amping PC sound hardware.
More info
---------
-- No power switch, so it's always on (VERY low wattage, though)
-- It's powered by an A/C power brick. Has a green power indicator LED on top.
-- The volume sliders have only one detente, or "notch" at the half-way point to let you know how far it's been pushed.
-- Above the slider detente, this thing gets "These go to 11" loud! Watch you ears. ;)
-- If you want to use it for speakers, make sure your speakers are self-powered. I doubt this amp will support un-amplified speakers.
If you're a true audiophile who needs to have the absolute best sound available and you can spend the cash for that quality, this amp isn't for you. You probably have better headphones than me, and you probably aren't using the amp on your PC anyway.
I am extremely picky about my sound quality, but I can't yet justify spending $400-$2000 on a serious Pro headphone amp. With the headphones I have, though, this little amp does a GREAT job and is definitely worth the price.

Comments about Rolls HA43 - 4 Output Stereo Headphone Amplifier:
First off, this amp is POWERFUL. I have to watch my younger cousins to make sure they don't deafen themselves with their own headphones.
Second, the quality is very sharp and clear, much better than the other options that exist for headphones for consoles.
Third, I can share the amp with 3 other people, they can finally appreciate playing first person with surround sound.
I have it connected directly to the output from the a/v cables of the 360, I didn't have to deal with any optical cable hassle.
This is the easiest and best solution I've found to surround sound headphones for gaming.
I can't play without them.

Comments about Rolls HA43 - 4 Output Stereo Headphone Amplifier:
This is a very well made unit, and can have variety of uses. I currently use it with my HDTV so that several people can watch TV wearing their headsets without disturbing others. The sound quality is top notch and the build quality is also excellent.
Please note that they make two different versions of this thing. Make sure that you're getting the "Pro" version, which is what sold by B&H here. Some other vendors sell a similar unit but is not the Pro version. The difference is that the Pro version has both 1/4 and 1/8 (3.5mm) jacks for each channel, while the non-pro version only has 1/8 (3.5mm); and also the Pro version has both 1/4 and RCA jacks for input, while the non-pro version has only 1/4 not RCA.
