I've owned Sea & Sea cameras and strobes for over 13 years and have used their o-rings and grease without any failures on their part. (My mistakes are a separate story.) Careful o-ring handling and greasing is critical, as is wearing your reading glasses and having enough light on the o-ring. I just ordered replacement o-rings for all three pieces, which I change at least once a year. For my purposes as a serious amateur underwater photographer, the DX-1G camera and strobes are a great system that enable me to take high quality pictures that result in many compliments. I wish the DX-1G had faster autofocus and less shutter lag, but I'd have to spend a lot more money to improve those.

so everyone who ownes anything for underwater use needs O-rings. It is a little irritating that you can't use anyone elses O-ring lubricant except Sea & Sea's apparently all other lubricants destroy the O-ring. But whatever, it is the cheapest thing you will have to buy in order to make your equipment work.
