The Shure SCM268 4-Channel Microphone Mixer offers simplicity and routing flexibility in a convenient, compact, and rugged enclosure. The SCM268 features 4 high quality transformer-balanced XLR inputs and mic/line level switchable XLR output. Transformer balanced I/O provides maximum audio gain, minimizing hum and line noise. Two stereo paired (4 mono) RCA inputs except line level signal from consumer audio devices such as CD and cassette players, DVD players, VCR's etc.
Also provided is an additional, independent AUX line level input with level control via a single RCA connector. Six sealed rotary pots provide level control for mic channels 1 through 4, AUX input channel and Master. The SCM268 also provides 12V phantom power for condenser microphones.

I have been working in film/video production for a few years now, and one thing I was never really good at was audio, it always seemed so complicated. When I saw an associate was using this mixer, I knew I had to have one. It all the functionality without all the complication. A great value!

Works OK for the price
I use this mixer for videoing conference meetings and depositions. It would be nice to have high impedance unbalanced mic output to drive cameras such as the Canon GL2.

Comments about Shure SCM268 4-Channel Microphone Mixer:
I work for a university setting up small and large events around campus. This little mixer's versatility is so astounding, we now have ten of them. Shure has incorporated Mic and Line level inputs for every channel making it easier to plug in units like sound from a laptop or CD player without needing a direct box. Having a Mic/Line level out allows me to adapt it to any existing system on campus without re-inventing the wheel. This is an all in one solution that I hope Shure will never stop manufacturing. We use these little mixers every day.

I am getting into the Legal Video world and needed a compact, well built mixer. The SCM268 fit the bill perfectly. It's small, has 4 XLR inputs and can power my Shure mics. I can set up quickly and depend on it to give clean sound to my recording gear.
