Comments about Domke F-3X Shoulder Bag (Black):
This is my 2nd f-3x bag, my first one got stolen with all my equipment and there was no doubt in my mind on what bag to get when I was buying new equipment, Domke is the only bag I want to use, its nice looking, long lasting and dont give you the feeling that you are carrying a plastic box or toy bag like the bags from lowepro as an example gives you...
In use its easy to open/close, easy to get your equipment in and out and still gives you the safty your equiment needs. IMO the perfect camera bag if you are bringing a camera 2-3 lenses and a flash + some extras...
What I have in mine is a D90 with vertical grip, 70-200 2.8 10-20 3.5 and 16-85 3.5-5.6 + a flash and extra bateries cables etc...
with the fa-031 shoulder pad it makes a good companion in every ocations...

I use this of one camera body and 2 lenses. Moved to this from a bigger F-2 Domke because it is not as large and fits almost as much gear in a layout that works for me.

Comments about Domke F-3X Shoulder Bag (Black):
this is my 2nd Domke bag. my 1st is still in use; its just a smaller bag.
this bag however, allows me to carry a mid-size Nikon body w/ 18-105mm attached (or not), 35mm prime, 55-300mm and a speed flash.....no problem!!!
plenty of room for memory cards, spare batteries, cleaning, etc...
quality of the bag is unmatched however, i have only washed the bag once. no worries though as it washed up just like my other Domke, just the same.
one note, i prefer bags that are not rigid and move with me whether i am in town or in the backwoods. that being said, i use protective wraps for all my equipment, not inserts. i also prefer subtle bags w/ traditional/classic styling...however, function trumps fashion....
if this is your style, this is your bag.

I use the product for my new Canon 7D with extended lens. My idea is to get my camera in and out easy and fast. I browse the web for different style of bag which none of that can give me a good example of using their product. F-3X is made for store your camera and lens separately but did provide a divider for you to create the way you want to store.
Hopefully for their new product Domke can provide more divider because in most case one divider is not enough at all.

I purchased this bag to replace my 20+ year old F-3. I was surprised to see how black it really is...the old one is now a dark gray...and a few holes are developing. It was also great to see that the new bag is made every bit as god as the old one and should give me another 20 years of service.

Comments about Domke F-3X Shoulder Bag (Black):
The compartment is spacious enough for a camera body with lens on, as well as two more lenses free, one on either side. The additional pockets hold the filters and extra things like batteries and charging cords.
I haven't carried it around much yet but I like the minimal profile and appearance of it.
I wish the vertical sides had a bit more padding-the only padding is the floor of the main compartment.
But all in all, great for Made in USA and not having a lot of foam and fake leather.
I expect it to last a long time!

Comments about Domke F-3X Shoulder Bag (Black):
The bag, though just slightly larger than expected, is as I hoped for: Roomy, casual, lots and lots of space, solid and flexible construction, and wraps around my body as I would've expected. Unlike the small F-5XB I have, which currently has a stiff square bottom pad, this bag has just a soft bottom padding which protects the equipment without making it bulky. I'm hoping and expecting this will last me for many years of rough use ahead. Though quite a lot bigger, I expect this will replace the F-5XB as a day bag because it it so comfortable and flexible.

This bag is stylish, discrete, and can store a ton! The build quality is great and the canvas is super soft. There's just enough padding on this bag in all the right places to protect your gear. The minimal padding is how this bag stylish and discrete, perfect for shooting in urban environments.
The side pockets are HUGE! They each can hold 2 Speedlites or 3 cans of beer, your choice.

Hello i just received today the bag i ordered. [...], i surprised about the size , really small and well made , i can put 4 small lens , 2 medium range ones , one flash sb600 , one camera d90 , filters...Really surprised about what i can put it in. The quality of the bag is also really nice . I was used to crumpler , this bag is really a lot better , crumpler bags weak point , you can't put a lot of things in the small ones , and it's really heavy , not the domke f-3x.In conclusion i recommend this bag , it's really worth the money.

This bag has everything, what a camera bag should have. I have a DSLR, three lenses (and a new flash!!), some filters. All fits in perfect as it never did before with any other bag I owned - and I owned lots of different Crumplers, Tamracs and LoewePros... I'm totally happy with it.

Comments about Domke F-3X Shoulder Bag (Black):
I have had the original canvas Domke bags for years, but this one, which we bought for our niece, seems to have all the features I would now put on my wish list. It is a comfortable size to throw over your shoulder and roomy enough to work out of, if you want to keep an SLR camera and lens attached. There is room left, including the several pockets inside and out, to stowe extra lenses, a flash unit, batteries and memory cards, not to mention your cellphone, wallet and travel information. It will definitely be my next bag.

This bag looks good, feels very sturdy and is roomy. I carry the following items in mine. A Rebel with battery grip, a 50mm, 100mm, G10, 580ex, wireless remote, extra memory cards, couple of filters, batteries and a mini tripod. WOW!

Comments about Domke F-3X Shoulder Bag (Black):
After reading a lot of positive reviews for Domke bags in general, I decided to buy one of their more compact models. After about a month of use I have only good things to say about this bag.
It's size is enough or 2-3 lenses (in my case a 17-85, 50mm, and 28mm), the camera body, and most of the little accessories that come with he camera. I can also fit a flash, my wallet and a few other things. I have on one occasion used one of the side pockets to hold two bottles of water.
The strap is one of the best parts. It looks like it can take a real beating and has two lines of rubber stitched into it so the bag doesn't slip on your shoulder.
There's a lot more I could say but other reviewers have probably said it better than I can. While I don't think this bag is big enough for a professional, or someone who needs to carry multiple bodies and lenses, it is great for a first time DSLR owner like myself who just wants a light bag to hike with and learn with.

I've had one of these bags for over 20 years. It's still going strong. Perfect size for a camera, one lens and flash. Domke bags are very well built. While not the most comfortable bag, or the easiest to access, it has lasted every other bag I've owned.

This is only the 3rd bag I have owned so I couldn't be called an expert but since I can't think of anything that a bag should do that this one doesn't already excel at I believe it can't be beat.

I own two of these bags now (and a total of 4 Domke bags). Love every one of them. There are limitless possibilities! You can stuff them as full as you need, they don't slide down your shoulder, and they don't "bounce" off your hip as you walk since they're soft-sided.

Comments about Domke F-3X Shoulder Bag (Black):
This was my first serious camera bag. I use it to transport my gear sometimes for work & travel, but mostly to take personal pictures. It is roomy and not too bulky for a woman. Discreet with no large lettering. Comfortable handle. I invested in an extra shoulder pad and I am happy that I did.
However, bag does not have much protective padding for my camera equipment.

Comments about Domke F-3X Shoulder Bag (Black):
After much research - perhaps too much research :) - this is THE BAG! My Canon 40D with 17-55 2.8 USM is a perfect fit! I was looking for a bag for travel overseas; a bag that would hold the basics, for daily use. The F-3X is lightweight, and once the camera is slung over one shoulder, the F-3x on the other ... makes me forget a bag is hanging on. [actually, with this makes for the perfect balance!] I could not fit another lens in, but my mainstay lens on camera for me is a bit bulkier. I use the camera pockets for daily essentials, and am good to go!
Last year, my gear was stolen while in Europe, and I felt life without my favorite travel-Tamrac was lost along with the some essential gear. The Domke is so much more efficient!
