The Domke F-5XB Shoulder/Belt Bag (Sand) can be used as a camera bag, or remove the Gripper shoulder strap and thread it through the belt loop for an instant waist/hip pack. The bag can hold an SLR or rangefinder camera, one or two lenses, filters, film and accessories. There is a zippered, padded main compartment lined with touch fastener material, a long thin compartment on the front of the bag, and a U-shaped pad that makes a compartment for papers.

Comments about Domke F-5XB Shoulder/Belt Bag (Sand):
This bag is inconspicuous and can hold the essntials.
For the longest time I had in this a Nikon FM2 with 28mm and a small lens and one flash. Then I started to carry my 1D MK II with a 50 attached and a fisheye in the other slot. It can even hold my 500cm with 80mm attached and an extra back. The canvas is tough and can take a beating. If you need more than a camera, 1-2 lenses and a small flash, then you'll need a bigger bag.

Comments about Domke F-5XB Shoulder/Belt Bag (Sand):
Very well made and looks nice. I carry an Olympus EPL-1 and an extra lens. There is still room to carry extras such as a battery, memory cards, lens cloths, etc. offers good protection but there is no padding on the inside side panels. When in use I don't close the zipper- just close the top flap which has a secure velcro closure.

Comments about Domke F-5XB Shoulder/Belt Bag (Sand):
Received just what I expected. Made very well and good looking. It holds my Olympus EPL-1 and an extra lens, plus ample room to hold memory cards a battery, cleaning cloths, etc. It could use padding on the inside side panels but it's easy to put something there. All other areas are padded.

I bought this camera bag after reading about it on [@] and have to agree that this bag both looks great and is very functional. The simple design and waxed cotton canvas make it perfect to take anywhere for any occasion. Now I have no excuse not to bring my DSLR and two lenses with me anywhere I go. The nonslip strap also keeps the bag from sliding around when I ride my bike.

Comments about Domke F-5XB Shoulder/Belt Bag (Sand):
Domke bags are the only shoulder bags that I can tolerate. I don't usually like the idea of carrying any sort of load on just one shoulder, and most shoulder bags slip off, hurt my shoulder, or annoy in other ways. Not Domke bags, with their clever Gripper straps. That said, I still generally dislike shoulder bags, with the exception of three - Domke F-804 (used as an overnighter, not for photo gear), Domke F-6 and Domke F2 (although that one is borderline - when full, it can be very heavy!).
So, when I started looking for a small camera bag, I didn't even look at other brands. And just as well - this just might be the perfect small camera bag! It fits a surprising amount of gear inside, but it doesn't get in the way when you want to reach inside to grab your gear to use it. It is fast becoming my favourite (I have found that the larger the bag, the more I want to take with me, so I am now limiting myself to smaller bags). A great camera bag, and highly recommended for anyone looking for a small shoulder bag for your photo gear.

So i got the bag in fairly quick and i love it. Im using it for a DSLR Canon Rebel XSI. Everything fits perfectly and its water proof. It could use a couple small inner pockets for memory cards, but ill deal. recomemded for quick and easy shooting when backpacking, or just movin quick.

Comments about Domke F-5XB Shoulder/Belt Bag (Sand):
I must have a godzillion number of bags, all of which seem to fall by the wayside as: too small, too large, to unweildy or just inconvient under or overkill. Nevertheless I keep coming back to the Domke F-5XB bag as my utility and most usefull non professional outing bag. IT STAYS ON MY SHOULDER WITHOUT CONSTANTLY TRYING TO FALL OFF!!! The rubber in the strap is a godsend. The size is perfect for a SLR and one extra lens, which is just what I end up using regardless of what I have along with me (mostly overkill)It's simple to get into and remove and replace the camera and simple to close the cover without having to struggle with zippers and small velcro tab alignment. It's also great looking and compact. Good job Domke....

Comments about Domke F-5XB Shoulder/Belt Bag (Sand):
This bag is perfect for me when I don't want to lug around my F2 shooter's bag. It's got compartments big enough to fit my Canon 135mm f/2, 50mm f/1.2 and my 5D. The front compartment inside is perfect for holding a wallet, keys, a phone, memory cards and few spare batteries. This bag is great. Domke really knows how to make a classic, intuitive camera bag.
Comments about Domke F-5XB Shoulder/Belt Bag (Sand):
This is a quality made bag, but it is very small. I thought that it would be bigger, quite honestly. It is about the size of a 5X7'' photography frame, to give you an idea. DSLR and Lens would be a very tight fit, which is what I originally bought the bag for. I am looking at the F4AF...I need something bigger.
Expertise: Amateur
Problems Encountered: I will rate this as 5 stars across the board, because it is a quality made bag and it serves its purpose. However, if you need something to carry a DSLR with lens mounted grab and go operation, this is not the bag to buy. It looks more like a purse.
Items I Recommend: F4AF Domke
