Ebtech HE-2 - Dual Channel Hum Eliminator
The HE-2 from Ebtech is a two-channel "Hum Eliminator" box, designed to eliminate 60Hz hum caused by ground loops. Almost all 60Hz AC hum is caused by ground loops that act like radio antennae (loop antennae). The Hum Eliminator completely eliminates this by breaking the ground loop, making it impossible for the signal lines to pick up the AC hum and noise in the first place.
Unbalanced lines are more susceptible to picking up electrical noise and RF interference than balanced lines - the longer the unbalanced cable, the greater the chance of a problem. Using the HE-2 to connect two pieces of equipment is one of the most cost-effective ways to convert between unbalanced signals and true balanced signals. The unit features 1/4" TRS phone inputs and outputs on both channels.

I had been beating my head against the wall with my humm problem for months until I tried this device. Works like a charm to eliminate humm created by my analog audio out left and right from my cable box going to my amp. Could not be more pleased!

I just ordered a second one of these after owning one for 5 years. It is a great hum eliminator. Not only does it work with line level signals but it also works with headphone level signals. I tried using a Sescom Mini and it's transformer saturated with the headphone out of my laptop. When "F's" were said in the audio it would severely distort. On the other hand, the Ebtech HE-2 worked like a champ. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the lack of stereo mini jacks in addition to the 1/4" TRS jacks. That'd make it prefect.
