Great addition for my Domke F4AF bag. Bag already has shoulder strap & carrying handle. Backstrap adds a 3rd way to carry my heavy Nikon D3 with zoom lens. A real plus when carrying for long perioeds of time!!! Backstrap is simple to attach, comfortable & appears to be durable yet doesn't add too much weight. Would give 5 stars but haven't had it long enough to judge longevity.

I bought this strap along with the Domke F2 bag, knowing I was going to be hiking with it.

This strap is a compromise in comfort no matter how I wear it. It is obviously designed for someone taller than myself (I'm about 5'4") as at its tightest adjustment I found the X of the strap pressing close to my neck, and anything longer rested the bag below my back.
Worn at any length in the standard backpack configuration (X against the back, loops over the arms) the straps dig in unacceptably at the armpits, resulting in chafing in a very short period. The only solution to this problem is to flip the strap around so the X rests against the front. This eliminates chafing and renders the stap usable, but comes with its own problems. Attached like this, the bag tends to rest on a point, rather than flat against the back. If you are female, there's only one way that X can be arranged at the front, and it's not ideal (think "lifts and separates", but without the "lifts"). Most importantly, it dramatically reduces the speed with which you can get at your gear, all clips are now behind you and you must unclip one to take the bag on and off.

The straps are made to last and they do distribute the weight reasonably well for carrying a camera bag over long distances, but are poorly designed and not worth the price.

I have had my Domke F2 for may years, carrying two camera bodies, 3-4 lenses, flash, and related gear suspended from the sholder strap. The FA-100 Backpack Strap provides a more balanced means to carry my gear. Although the strap is not padded, it is very comfortable.

Use it with a Domke F2 bag. Fantastic piece of kit. Allows you to carry a very heavy load without feeling the pain of it. This is very simply a must have for all Domke bag owners !!!

Note that although there is no padding it does not feel uncomfortable.

This strap is a great alternative to carrying your Domke bag on your shoulder. It is comfortable, strong and priced right. I enjoy throwing it on and taking off into the woods.

This strap assembly is perfect for use on my "just a little bigger" Domke gear bag. I do a lot of trail walking for nature shots, and the shoulder strap gets to be a real PAIN. With this strap, I bear the weight of the bag on both sholders and my lower back, thus making it far more comfortable to carry the bag. :) The only thing I'm slightly nervious about is the spring loaded hooks being used, but I guess Domke knows what they have designed this strap for.

These straps pack up small and hook up quick. When the shoulder strap of your bag just isn't secure enough, these straps will bring the extra peace of mind knowing that your gear is firmly attached to you.
Likewise, they're comfortable and easy to reconfigure on the fly.
One my favorite things about these straps is they allow you safely move your bag in and out of the way quickly and securely - especially if you use the 'single shoulder' configuration.
For backpacking, hiking or other movement-intensive locations look no further.
