I bought this with a Domke F2 bag and wow! I love this shoulder pad. I've since bought this for all of my photo bags plus messenger bags that get heavy after a long day. This has an angled padding and adjusts easily to on the shoulder or over the shoulder/across the body carrying style. The pad is thick and angled so you can easily adjust it to your body plus it removes easily if you want to switch to another bag...but for less than [$] I recommend getting one for each bag. I shoot with a 1ds Mark II body and several L lenses...add flashes, batteries and other items to my bag and it's easily over 20lbs. This pad makes it easy for all day use and I especially like it on my Crumpler bags - which come with horrible shoulder pads IMO.

I bought this shoulder pad for my Domke bag because my shoulder was aching after a regular day of use. The pad is well constructed, but it's fairly heavy for a shoulder pad and isn't particularly soft.
I quickly found that the shoulder pad made it more difficult than usual to sling the bag in front of me so I could pull out my camera. It was somewhat uncomfortable, but I thought that it would just take some getting used to. After several days of use though, I realized that my shoulder was hurting even more than when I didn't have the pad on at all.
Maybe I'm weird, but this shoulder pad didn't really do what it's supposed to for me. My solution now is just to carry less in the bag to reduce weight.

The strap on my Tenba camera bag was unpadded. This works perfectly.

Comments about Domke FA-031 Shoulder Pad:
Sure, perhaps expensive for a silly shoulder pad, but this thing makes carrying my photo bag around a lot more comfortable. The biggest benefit is the angled padding, which keeps the bag on your shoulder, as it helps resist the pulling.
Sometimes I consider replacing the pad on my expensive leather briefcase I use daily, just for the comfort.
I would recommend this for any bag that has a strap that fits it. Why bother with a fancy bag that has a mediocre strap and comfort, which will result in the bag staying home? Exactly. When you buy a Domke bag, add this by default.

The pad makes the bag stay on your shoulder. Very comfortable.

I'm another guy schlepping a Domke F-7 among other bags. I use this shoulder pad with an Op/Tech USA shoulder bag strap after taping down the canvas Domke strap to make a heavier duty handle. Put your chiropractor on hold and get this pad. It's great !

Comments about Domke FA-031 Shoulder Pad:
I love this thing. I didn't think shoulder pads were of much help until I came across this product. I even use it with the smaller Domke satchels. Even if your gear is light, this shoulder strap will make a difference during a full day of walking or hiking.
I took it travelling with me this year. I think I would have hated carrying my camera gear if it wasn't for the shoulder pad.
I have one to use for my two Domke bags. I may get another one so I don't have to switch it over.

Comments about Domke FA-031 Shoulder Pad:
If you are carrying a lot of equipment, your bag can get pretty heavy, especially if you are lugging it around for a long time. This pad really makes a world of difference. It really spreads the weight evenly across and the foam rubber prevents a lot of the strain. You can easily remove it and put it back on and it can accommodate a very wide range of straps. It is contoured for that perfect fit and is built tough

I use it on my domke f6 when I'm out for a day of shooting. Easy to put on and take off. Can get a little annoying as it can get stuck on the f6's gripper strap when adjusting the bag from your back to your front.

Comments about Domke FA-031 Shoulder Pad:
I purchased this product to use with my diaper bag, which has straps made out of seat belt material and no included shoulder pad. The bag is big, and I tend to stuff it full.
When I received the product, I was a little surprised by how bulky it is. It is fairly heavy and is pretty thick. It is thicker on one side than the other, a feature I only noticed after some use, to make it stay on your shoulder better.
In short, this pad has revolutionized my often heavy and overly stuffed diaper bag. The pad distributes the weight of the bag over my shoulder and prevents the bag from slipping off of my shoulder. My bad is so much easier to carry. If you can get past the bulk of this pad, you'll love it.

Comments about Domke FA-031 Shoulder Pad:
I use this shoulder pad for all the bigger size of Domke bags, such as F-1X, F-2. Thickness of the pad is reducing from the neck side to the shoulder side and that design make the shoulder strap horizontal.

Comments about Domke FA-031 Shoulder Pad:
The Domke shoulder pad is a very clever and pretty good looking attachment. I have tried to make do-it-yourself attachments like this, but they slip around and they look homemade. I might like this to be cheaper, but it's okay, and it really looks like abuilt-in part of my bag.

I got this orginally with my F-803 (Sand). I used it for a couple of days and realized that my bag isn't heaving enough use the shoulder pad.The padding is actually slanted so it's very comfortable for your left or right shoulder which one was aspect I was surprised to see. I've sold it to a friend who has a Billingham Hadley Pro bag without a shoulder pad and his gear is much heavier then mine. It looks great with his kakhi colour bag and compare to a Billingham [$] leather strap with no padding it's a steal.I would definitaly get this shoulder pad again if I load my bag up with more gear.

Comments about Domke FA-031 Shoulder Pad:
Wanted it to help with some of the loads i have to carry, including a rather heavy business satchel.
Planned uses were to soften camera loads, business loads, all sorts of loads, including tripod slings and etc.
Unfortenutely the velcro straps it uses to secure itself to the straps are rather short and fit few of the slings i have. I'll be extending them myself which shouldn't be a hard mod.
Other then that, its an improvement over basic pads, but i think theres better out there. For the money though, can't go wrong if you're having issues with your pads.

Comments about Domke FA-031 Shoulder Pad:
My kit isn't too heavy (gripped D90, 18-105, flash, 50 mm f/1.8, reflector. While the pad is quite thick and angled, it lifts the strap of my F-3x off my torso because of the thickness. I like the strap tight on my chest as it seems to act as a chest strap on a backpack, taking some of the load off my shoulder. To be honest, the width of the original Domke strap seems to be enough, but for the price, you might as well get it if you're carrying bigger kit or you think it's right for you. If not, I guess you could always sell/return it. There's bound to be someone else who wants it. And besides, it'll fit on to most any shoulder strap for any bag, so if there's another heavy messenger bag that needs more padding, you've got one right here.

The one inch-wide shoulder strap on the camera harness that I have is too narrow and unpadded, so two of the Domke P.O. shoulder pads are the answer.

I was not impressed with this pad. In fact, I found my Domke bag more comfortable without it. The pad kind of digged into my shoulder, and is also heavier than I expected.
