I bought this lens hood for my 28mm. Its great, it helps protect the lens, it does its job. If your reading this then just buy it already, its great. I looked at the cheaper knock offs online and they are poor quality, most of the time with no felt inside the hood. This is a pretty good price, just buy it.

Maybe it's just a lens hood, but it has been out of stock everywhere for months. I purchased a third party hood because I couldn't wait any longer, and I hated it!! It was so tight to put on, and it did NOT go on in reverse for storage. This original hood from Canon goes on nice & smoothly, and mount backwards like I wanted, definitly worth the extra money.....when it is available to purchase

Very useful to control flare during night shots. Easy to shift framing slightly to introduce or remove flare from oblique lighting sources.

This is a very sturdy lens hood, with a very nice finish. Generally, it gives you a feel of good quality, even though it's plastic. Of course it does a better job of eliminating excess light and flare on a 35mm sensor.

I bought this to go with my Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM lens. Fits nicely, has a flocked inner surface. My only complaint is that it seems a bit overpriced for what you get.

A lens hood is a must have for your equipment, to prevent glare and also just to protect your lens from the elements when shooting. Thought it was priced kind of steep, but hey, this is a necessity.

This goes on my Canon 28mm f1.8 USM lens. It works fine and has great construction. But, like all proprietary lens hoods, costs too much. I paid [$]; shouldn't have cost more than $14.95.

It's a basic item, but a necessary one. The material is not too stiff, and it's finished nicely. It also fits perfectly. It goes on and off smoothly, and it clicks in securely.

I did a recent photo shoot and had a lot of glare on my photos and this hood, in addition to a UV Filter really helped the next time I did a shoot outdoors to reduce the glare. Great to protect your lens too!
