When I got this film I was really excited to start shooting. I bought it in the 5 roll box and went through pretty quickly. My prints just got back and sometimes I was impressed sometimes and other times not so much. I'm careful about how much I blame on the film and how much it's just my camera. (I shoot with a Kiev-60, obviously not the most reliable camera) Anyways, the film generally has a nice white balance and a very good contrast for portraits. When shooting still life that had a lot of white on white, most of the pictures turned out greyer than I would have liked. Nothing a bit of photoshop magic can't fix to brighten them up, though.
The film is good for portraits, as advertised. Anything with still life or landscapes that have a lot of white, not so much. The film is good when there's more color. My friend described it as "dreamy".

The price was right, I was a little worried about how the films would travel all the way to Adelaide but they arrived post-haste and in top condition, I really can say nothing but good!

Comments about Kodak Portra-160VC 120 Professional Color Print Film (ISO-160):
A fine film for portrait work, 160VC is also quite capable for general photography. I have shot landscapes with it as well, although I know that's not its main purpose. Colorful without being garish, this film has never disappointed me.

Used for fun. I'm not a professional. I respooled it onto a 160 Brownie Hawkeye. I would recommend this film.

This film worked out very well for me on a recent trip to the Grand Canyon. The only bad thing is that, even though it's not ISO 800, it got a bit ruined by being put with my luggage under the airplane. (It was also a very long flight from Phoenix, Az to BWI) The place where I develop it, the guy asked me how old the film was because it looked so cloudy. Again, we determined this was from the plane as I've ordered this film from B&H many times without any problems.

I hope there is a few photographers out there using film. This 120 version of Portra 160VC has been a long time friend to me. It gives very good color and shadow detail. The grain is excellent. All images are scanned into my computer giving me the choice of traditional or digital capture. Got to keep those old Hasselblad's working.

Best film for portraits if you want vivid and saturated color tones. I remember it by VC = vivid / NC = neutral.

Comments about Kodak Portra-160VC 120 Professional Color Print Film (ISO-160):
I will generally use VC in or under diffused light, especially with more subtle colors, to make them pop a bit. But as far as using 160 VC to make vibrant colors more vibrant, I find it unnecessary, and even excessive. Scans great, also and, to save time, with UV/tri-color scanners you can use digital "ICE" with color negative.
