I purchased this film per my teachers recommendation. It sat for several months until I decided to use it for a project. I shot several white walled corners and then scanned the negatives. The most beautiful colors appeared and my project was a success! I went to explore it further only to find that it has since been discontinued and what I purchased from [@] may be nothing near to the result I hope to get. It is a very sad day and if anyone has extra rolls around please let me know!

I have shoot a lot of this recently because it has become harder to buy kadak 100uc. I shot 5 roles last week in Louisiana and scanned the film to find it had a lot of trouble in darker areas of the image as well as having a vintage look and not representing the scene. I shoot slide film along side it with a 67 camera and the 160 is not vivid at all but a plain. Film was bought from a professional store and was stored correctly. I recommend it for shoots where you want your images to look like they were shot in 1960's.

I use this for an all around film. It works equally well for landscapes or portraits (nice skin tones).

I use many color films and like them all but this one is the goto for shots that don't require hand hold speed in lower light situations. As an old VPS 3 user, this is the replacement. I prefer it to Ektar 100 for it's color and natural look....and it is equally sharp. Since it is already sleighted to be replaced by the new Portra Professional, I am stocking up and keeping my fingers crossed. Films like this keep digital equipment out of my camera bag.

I used this film for the first time on my Nikon F100. I did a film test with this film and two other Fuji films. This film is breath taking. I have a wonderful look to my images and I shot with a DX lens in some which adds a wonderful vignette. But the colors are truly amazing.

For anyone wanting great quality prints with awesome color this is the product to use. I use it for portrait and still life photography and I wouldn't use anything else but the Portra-160VC. This is a slower film so lighting is required whether with studio lights or natural light is no matter just great photos every time.

This is my go-to daylight film for use in my Leica and Voigtlander rangefinder cameras. Color is indeed vivid, but not artificially so. Fine-grained and fairly forgiving, which is helpful with old cameras that don't have built-in meters.

My favorite color print film. Consistently exceptional crisp vivid color balance. Superb for dawn and dusk astrophotography.

Sharp, colorful, very rich stock. Love it because of vibrant colors.
Use in middle of day. Although with minimal light, shots can be interesting. Took a photo of friends playing soccer at magic hour and there was a gorgeous rim along their side, rest was dark.

What can I say, it has great colour and can be under or over exposed and still create a great image. Has nice grain as well. This is the film you use when you want to take a picture of your girlfriend. Also scans well.

Comments about Kodak Portra-160VC 135-36 Professional Color Print Film (ISO-160):
I've used this film for lots of things: in the studio, sports, and just casual snapshots. It has worked so well for me in every instance, that it is all that I use for colour now. The grain is especially low (I usually pull it half a stop or so), and the colours are always right on. Even though I print my own colour prints (old fashioned, in a darkroom), colour balancing only takes a test strip or two. For the amount of time saved and for the colour that it gives me, it is well worth the price. I am a student, so I can't afford to be too picky about my film, but I'm sticking with this film every time. It develops with excellent colours when USED PROPERLY! I'm not going to lecture, but "Portra" sounds an awful lot like "portrait", which generally refers to PEOPLE. Clearly, this film is specifically designed to be a portrait film, not a landscape film. Just like you wouldn't use a hammer to cut a piece of wood, you wouldn't want to use this film to take pictures of landscapes.

This film has great color and good speed. Grain is perfect, but a tripod is needed for low light or small f-stop.

I use this film for most of my photography... Street and scenic/landscape/travel photography with the new Zeiss Ikon rangefinder as well as macro and portrait photography with my trusty old Nikon F2S. It is a very good all-purpose film (for those of us who still use film!)
