The best photographs are often the ones you never saw coming. Because there is so little warning, you need a film that can handle a wide variety of available light and motion, indoors or out, without losing subtleties in color, sharpness, and skin tone. Kodak Professional Portra 400-speed films give you that flexibility. You can freeze the action, stop down for extra depth of field, or pick up added detail in shadow areas.
In addition to all the benefits of a faster speed, you also get strikingly fine grain. So you can shoot with confidence whether you choose Portra film NC for natural color or Portra 400VC film for vivid color.

I've been testing out several B&W films in my Diana F+ and this film is one of my two favorites. It creates a dreamy quality, almost purple tint, to my landscape photos that I love. If you're looking for a really contrasty film this is probably not the one you want but if you're looking for a nice compliment to the dreamy, "artsy" photos that Dianas and Holgas are known for give this one a try.

I began using this film as a photography student, I have highly appreciated the functionality of this film. It produces clear, intense color and transfers well in the scanning for digital use process.

The color is always beautiful with this film, no matter what the conditions, and even when I don't use my light meter. It's the only color film I always love.

I used the film for my ohotography class taking pictures of landscapes. The photos turned out great! Have not scanned or made copies to know if those work well with this film.

Comments about Kodak Portra-400NC 120 Professional Color Print Film (ISO-400):
A great film suitable for many uses, in particular, portraiture. Added to that, it has an incredible exposure latitude. The only problem I found was it can be tricky to achieve a good scan from.

I enjoy using this film in low light situations as well as with flash. I have the film scanned and then I make prints from there. It's almost impossible to tell the difference.

Great break from the hum-drum of digital. You just can't chimp. Portra still has its look. These days, it stands out in the crowd.

Awesome film for portraits and any indoor work, colors are always great and perfect. A little grainy for landscapes at times, but just use 160NC for those shots.

Comments about Kodak Portra-400NC 120 Professional Color Print Film (ISO-400):
Hard to comment about color. First off, I'm shooting color in a Holga. Second, my developer thought it was B&W and developed it that way.
But, in B&W, the pictures were nice and clear and the grain was good and consistent. (Even in a Holga!!!!)

Comments about Kodak Portra-400NC 120 Professional Color Print Film (ISO-400):
I use Portra 800 extensively and love the type of grain it produces — a rarity in color negative films — but I also want smaller grain many times. Portra 400NC does not disappoint. Fantastic for portraits, I also use it in myriad other situations as well. Skin tones are marvelous, but landscapes are great too. I generally shoot it at ISO 320 and process normal for best results.

I purchased this for use in a Hassleblad and then to print in a color dark room. It is everything that a negative should be and I have absolutely no complaints.

This film was required for school. After looking locally at photography stores, this was the least expensive price that I found. Love using the film.
