I purchased this bag to carry 8-foot lightstands, umbrella swivels, and 45" umbrellas on location. It works great for this application, but I think the bag is too long, and has pretty skimpy padding for a quality tripod bag. Try the Tamrac 332 Padded Tripod case if your looking to protect a tripod. I have found it to be one of the best.

I use this to carry my manfrotto tripod.I like that it has an exterior pocket for storing tripod plates, screws etc....
CONS:
The padding isnt very good. The diameter of the bag isn't very wide. I have the 515 legs and the feet on the legs make it hard to zip up the bag.

It works perfectly for the tripod we have. The shoulder strap is nice. The bag appears to be of quality construction as well. Looks like we will get many years of use out of it.

It's padded and that is a very important thing for me, besides It's very strong and durable but it is a little shorter than the measurements.

Comments about Manfrotto 3281B (AW-3281B) 42" Padded Tripod Bag (Black):
I bought the Manfrotto 3281B Padded Tripod Bag to protect my Manfrotto 3046 tripod with a Manfrotto 501HDV head. It is a nice bag; however, the tripod with the head is a tight fit. The length is fine, but the narrow width needs at least an additional 1/2 to 1 inch for a good fit. It is advertised to fit the 3046 tripod, but it seems Manfrotto would have allowed for their head mounted on the tripod.

Got this bag to carry my 1 meter dolly slider. It is the typical quality construction I have come to expece from Manfrotto. Tough, rugged bag. I am sure I will have it for a long time. Good handles along with a shoulder strap and an outside zippered pocket for those small accessories.

Great for use with the 3036 tripod with head attached. Basic bag with not much padding but protection from the elements and great organizational aid. Good value, would recommend.

This bag works great with my Manfrotto 3182 tripod. It's a snug fit but it does the job just fine. I check it on planes and I have yet to experience any damage to the tripod or the bag. Seems durable!

I'm using this to carry two tripod stands for my teleprompter. They're not particularly delicate, so the padding in this bag is perfectly adequate. I was looking for a low-cost solution, and this bag is perfect.
