Avenger Sand Bag for Boom Stand - Empty - Holds 13.2 lbs
Sand bags come in a variety of shapes and weights. They are used for securing the bases of light stands and set walls. Many have handles, for hanging on hooks or risers. Some have two wings, to allow draping over light stand legs.
Most are cordura nylon, some are vinyl covered and waterproof.
Some models of sandbags are shipped empty, for convenience and economy. They can be filled with sand, or any type of weight you provide, and emptied for storage, or transport.

In a world where a sandbag is typically just a sandbag, this thing is very good. Great size for stabilizing tripods and light stands. The D-ring and clip make this thing a cut above the rest. As an owner of several off-brand and standard issue sandbags, this thing is a dream to work with. You can hang it as a counterbalance, hook it on to anything that needs some more weight, yet it still works great as the old stand stabilizer. Durable material and good quality velcro for securing the sand compartments. I suggest using gallon ziploc bags to put the sand in, before placing it into the sandbag. It will make your life so much easier when and if you need to remove it for storage or travel.

Love the ring and clips. Works well with the Avenger boom arms. We fill ours with gravel instead of sand just in case we need to empty them.

These are just the right size to fit the Avenger C-stands and they are the correct weight for my lights. I like the well made bags and the double velcro seals to keep the sand from spilling out. I also use HD ziplock bags give me added protection from sand seeping out. The weight is right for use on the smaller booms.

This works well for my use. I used #8 shot so I don't have to deal with sand. These are compact using shot. I am using more than 13# in each bag. The bag has two vecro setups on each side which prevent accidental opening. I have used them once already in a shoot. All went well.
