Comments about Vivitar Zoom Super W/A 19-35mm f/3.5-4.5 Series 1 MF Lens:

I have gone through two of these lenses so far. The first had a speck of white dust behind the front element of the lens. The second seems to have something shaking around in it. I know its a bargain lens, but this is unexceptable. I'm not going back for take 3 thats for sure.

Comments about Vivitar Zoom Super W/A 19-35mm f/3.5-4.5 Series 1 MF Lens:

I had wanted a wide angle zoom for years for my old Pentax ME Super but due to the high prices of name brand lenses I had to wait.
When I saw that the Vivitar 19-35 zoom was a Japanese made Multi-Coated lens I knew I had to have it. I have owned Vivitar products in the past and felt good about the purchase.
Having used the lens to photograph mainly architecture and scenics I can now say it has exceeded all expectations!
It has excellent contrast against blue skies even without a polarizer. The color saturation and sharpness are very good so apparently the multi-coatings are well applied.
The maximum aperture of f3.5 makes it easy to focus especially if you do your focusing at the 35mm setting then zoom down to the 19mm focal length.
I would highly recommend this lens to anyone who wants a manual focus wide angle zoom. It is a fun lens to use. If there is a downside, the 77mm filter size means you will be paying more for the filters if you use any, but shop around and you will find bargains. 5 stars for this lens!
