Comments about Tiffen 77mm Skylight 1-A Glass Filter - Wide Angle:
I bought this filter for the protection it will offer on my nikkor 10-24mm wide angle zoom. I get no vignetting with the filter when the lens is set at 10mm, however you may need to buy a different style of lens cap, because of the thin design of the filter the Nikons nice pinch style cap hardly catches the lip of the filter.
If it gets bumped very softly the cap will come off, I do not carry the lens with the cap on for fear of losing it. But that's why I got the filter to protect the lens when I use it, so I only use the cap when the lens is in the bag.
Comments about Tiffen 77mm Skylight 1-A Glass Filter - Wide Angle:
When you use it on a 77mm lens, your lens cap will no longer fit. The internal size is smaller than 77mm and therefore you can't use the old lens cap. boo.

Comments about Tiffen 77mm Skylight 1-A Glass Filter - Wide Angle:
The filter is great, but I can't leave it on my camera when I store it because it does not have a lip on the inside and so the lens cap does not grab.

Comments about Tiffen 77mm Skylight 1-A Glass Filter - Wide Angle:
I bought this wide-angle filter for a 12-24 lens. I tried it at the widest angle on some scenic shots. It not only significantly reduced haze to virtually nothing, its rim did not interfere. I highly recommend it.

Comments about Tiffen 77mm Skylight 1-A Glass Filter - Wide Angle:
This is an everyday filter that serves my basic shooting needs for a variety of subject matter. I use my gear for news, sports and feature photography, shooting in a variety of weather conditions. A higher-end filter is probably desirable for fine art or studio photography, but I can't afford to trash a filter costing several times as much.

Comments about Tiffen 77mm Skylight 1-A Glass Filter - Wide Angle:
it works as advertised: seems to be a very nice filter, and doesn't create any additional vignetting even on my tokina 11-16 when set at 11 and f/2.8
BUT
it doesn't do what I wanted it to do: I wanted a clear filter that I could let on the lens forever, to avoid smudges and scratches on that expensive piece of glass, but this "wide angle" version is not useful for that, as the lens cap won't attach anymore when the filter is on
if I want to use it to protect my lens, I have to take the cap off, then screw the filter on, then take very nice pictures, then unscrew the filter, then put the cap back on
I'm pretty confident I won't use the filter much
absolutely my fault, though

Comments about Tiffen 77mm Skylight 1-A Glass Filter - Wide Angle:
Pro - keeps the front element of the lens safe.
Con - I forgot that low profile means "can't use lens cap".
