I have used E screens for the last 20 plus years on various Nikon cameras for general photography. The grid helps align horizons and general framing. I use the grid function on my digital cameras so they don't need the special screen. B&H had the E screen for the F100 available at a great price!
The grid lines on the older F, F2 & F3 screens don't go clear to the edges of the screen, this screen installed in an F100 covers a slightly smaller area than the older screens on the older cameras.
Follow the instructions in the F100 manual and it takes less than 5 min to install.

Perfect fit with F100. Grid lines are clear, but not obtrusive. Screen was easy to install. I had never replaced one before, but it only took a minute or so. No instructions included, but the F100 manual clearly explains the process. The screen comes in a nice, stout plastic case with special tweezers to hold the screen by the tab. Only the gridlines are etched on the screen itself; the autofocus brackets and 12mm circle are on the prism. The final view through the finder is as shown in the product image.

Don't worry about what the other reviewer said about "not recommending" this screen. This screen was originally developed especially for the F100; the fact that it also fits the D1 is a nice example of Nikon versatility.
The lines are NOT supposed to be "full frame" on the F100 - E-screens never had lines going all the way to the edges, going way back to the earliest Nikons, long before small-sensor DSLRs were even a conception.
So feel free to use this screen in your F100. It's a great shooting tool.

This screen will work in an F100 body, but the grid is not "full frame". The grid covers the area of a DX sensor, and the rest of the screen is clear.
