The Electro-Voice N/D 767 is a rugged handheld supercardioid microphone designed for live sound reinforcement and general recording applications. Elecro-Voice VOB (vocally optimized bass) technology reduces proximity effect and muddiness associated with close proximity capturing.
The supercardioid polar pattern effectively eliminates noise and audio and the off-axis sections of the capsule. The result is reduced feedback distortion and improved signal-to-noise ratio. The N/D 767 features a Neodymium magnet for improved sensitivity and high gain before feedback. The N/D 767 is an excellent solution for capturing vocals in performances, speech capturing, presentations and more.

This is the second one I've purchased. I still use the first which is 15 years old with no problems.
Great Mic for live vocal applications.

Comments about Electro-Voice N/D767A - Supercardioid Handheld Dynamic N/DYM Vocal Microphone:
Anyone who purchases this mic will not be disappointed. Great low end and crystal-clear highs. As usual with EV, it has a much higher output than similar products. The rubber sleeve around the mic makes it plenty "road friendly"
A great mic all the way around.

Comments about Electro-Voice N/D767A - Supercardioid Handheld Dynamic N/DYM Vocal Microphone:
After years with Shure SM58s that made me sound dull, bland, and quiet, I finally tried this mic against an Audix OM. While the Audix was good, there was still some feedback. This mic, however, cut right through the drum kit bass, and guitar. I sing in a prog rock ("ambient punk") band in a small practice room, and being heard through everyone else (drums, loud guitar and tons of effects) was always a HUGE issue. The EV 767a fixed that--and I can turn my PA to "3" instead of maxing it out!! And no feedback even in a 10x10 room with 4 guys! I'd given up that I was always going to be drowned out (my mid-tones are RIGHT where the guitar is), but this mic brings you in super hot. You can HEAR ME now. And now it's the GT that's feeding back, not me!!! While you don't get the nuanced subtleties you get with a condenser mic in a studio, at least you get heard--and what you hear has volume, texture and interest--exactly what most female voices lack with crummy mics lke the old Shures, etc. Highly recommend the EV767a to female singers who've had trouble getting "over the music".

Cheaper and better then the Shure sb58, the EV 767 is built stronger, with improved magnets and it employs a superior moister protection system. I saw a guy accidentally stand on his wind screen and it didn't even warp. This mic's dynamic range is fantastic, with a warm rich sound. I own two of them and I love them. If you're looking for a quality mic at a good price look no farther. Also, B&H's price is pretty much the cheapest price I've seen.
