With pinpoint resolution that's entirely free from coma and virtually all spherical and chromatic aberration, the multicoated optics of the Nikon 18x70 Astroluxe XL Binocular provide unbelievable brightness and contrast for those with a serious astronomical interest. Thanks to its rigorous multicoating procedures, you'll be able to clearly identify stars one half to a full magnitude fainter than those visible with ordinary binoculars of the same 70mm specification.
The waterproof and fogproof 18x70 Astroluxe XL has a very rigid all-metal housing with a friendly pebble-grained exterior, and it is known to keep its alignment despite heavy use. It arrives with angled eyecups to shield your eyes from stray light while observing.
The 18x70 Astroluxe XL, like every Nikon binocular, is supported by Nikon USA's "No-Fault" lifetime warranty.

Comments about Nikon 18x70 Astroluxe XL Binocular:
These seem to be a decent pair of lenses. Surprisingly enough, I was able to get this binocular, even though it had been discontinued, then they unexpectedly appeared in stock, so I grabbed them immediately, and lo and behold I am an owner of the famous Nikon 18x70IF WP. It was simply luck that I was able to buy those! Anyway, as exciting as it was to get them, I was a bit disappointed about their eye piece cap design. They are made of plastic, quite flimsily put together if you will. Also, the interpupilar distance seem to be a little tight, and the binocular is totally unadjustable for me with the included angled eye cups on. The distance between the eye pieces is simply too narrow. So, I won't use the angled eye cups, that's for sure. These binoculars also look quite vintage, but that's a matter of taste, and I seem to have acquired that taste within two days of owning these. The hard-case desing is not good. The binos wabble inside. There are velcro straps to hold the binos tight inside the case, but the straps had already torn the case inside. Interestingly enough, with the optional Nikon tripod mount, when installed on the binos, solves this problem. The velcro straps are not necessary anymore. These binoculars should come with this particual tripod adapter standard! It fits better in the case with the tripod adapter. Oh, and did I mention there were not eye-piece cups included? I am going to have to buy these too, additionally. Okay, so these were all the gripes. Aside from that, the binoculars seem pretty exellent. I ain't returning them, that's for sure! I never expected that I'd ever own the Nikon Astroluxe. So, I am pleasantly surprised. Thank you.
