Other reviews here touch on most subjects, but I'd like to again point out that they didn't bother to include an umbrella hole ... which you have to DYI to use modifiers like the very versatile Elinchrom Varistar Umbrella/softbox.
While the Profoto end is very secure, the Eliunchrom side is not ... a problem that I've always had with Elinchrom's mount, and this adapter doesn't cure.

Well built product from Elinchrom, solid attachment to my Profoto heads. Perfect adapter for fitting Rotalux boxes to your Profoto heads. Quick and easy. Does what it is supposed to and very well with one exception. If you wanted to fit an internal deflector (as supplied with the deep Rotalux boxes) you need to perform a small home modification to the silver reflector. Hence the 4 Stars. But this is easy and do not be put off buying the adapter at all.

I bought this so I could mount the new 70cm deep octa on my profoto acuteb head. The compression ring mounts the profoto very tightly, better than the other 3rd party speedrings I own.
The profoto wont zoom in as much into the mount due to it hitting the elinchrom side of the mount, still enough to get sit the flastube inside any mod.
I will drill a hole in the elinchrom side to line up with the umbrella receptacle in the profoto head so i can use the elinchrom deflectors with the octa.
Overall a great purchase to acess the brilliant rotalux and other cheaper elinchrom modifiers I changed from recently having sold my elinchrom system.

If you use Profoto lights and want the fold-up convenience of the Elnchrom softbox, you need this adapter.
It works as advertised, fits snugly on both the softbox and light, and gives you the best of both worlds. It is plenty sturdy to hold my 39x39 softbox.
Do this though: take a 3/8 round file and file a half-round slot in the edge of the adapter. This way you can slide the Elinchrom Maxisoft deflector into the 7mm umbrella hole. This little gadget turns the softbox into a giant beauty dish.
