One word? EXCELLENT! Put a red stripe at the end of this lens...put an L-Series price tag on it and most 'so called' photographers will give this lens 5 stars. Don't let hype or lack thereof fool you....especially in this instance.
I choose this lens over my "L" glass in many instances because of the stunning portraits it produces. Great work on my 40D but superior on 5D Mark ii
What to expect:
Don't get me wrong this lens is cheap and plastic. You won't feel like a pro with this in your hands...you will feel foolish if you used high end glass before.
Slow focusing in low light...and occasionally in perfect lighting conditions
Extremely pleasing bokeh, especially at 300mm
Does this lens have limitations? Yes...I only use it in bright sunlight. I am grading it for the top notch images it produces when using it for what it was intended for. If you can work around these handicaps and know how to use a camera then be prepared to capture some of the MOST STUNNING portraits in your portfolio...I often have to look at my EXIF data to determine if I used my 85 or 135 because the images are THAT GOOD.

I bought this lens along with a canon T1i for my husband. Up untill recently he had been shooting with and older camera and lens set which was metal bodied. The most noticable diffrence between the two has been and weight and the focusing capabilities. The old lens would drag and pull something fierce on both him and any tripod he sat it on while this new lens hardly adds any weight to the camera despite it's size. A draw back I have noticed it a drop in ease of focusing with the lens zoomed out. Auto focus can be a hit or miss when shooting far away and manual is really difficult with out a tripod, and even then it's like having a hair trigger! Over all it's a good lens and really does get you out there it just takes some experimenting to learn the best ways to get it to focus, such as making sure to only use one AF point if you have multiple AF capabilities on your camera.

It works great with my rebel. The zoom is wide, and clear. I would reccommend this Lens if you want to capture the shot far away. The picture quality is good, and very little noise.

I use this lense for mostly shooting far away videos/pictures, or zooming in/out(video). The one thing you MUST consider is how BIG the lense is; it's not for use for anything close, but with anything you need to capture far away you will be more than pleased. The autofocus is a little slow, but fast compared to othe lenses of its kind. I would say to use this lense for anything 30ft+ away.

I bought this for my Rebel XT to make up for stored glass that I couldn't use with the digital. I did have problems at first and was not surprised because of the low price. After a few tests it turned out to be a bad filter. The ghosting was gone but the contrast is a bit flat. PhotoShop fixed that and for a lens under $200.00 I'm happy. The real test was shooting the Red Bull air racers in SD. A little flat but very sharp.

Comments about Canon Zoom Telephoto EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III Autofocus Lens:
I have to be honest and say I don't know enough about lenses to really nitpick this thing. Also, I'm not really interested all that much in the speed of the autofocus because I'm a focus snob and insist on doing it myself.
For my uses this lens is excellent. It's great when you need to narrow that angle down and it's got a lot of zoom if you like that stuff. The aperture is open enough to get some decent bokeh when fully zoomed.
If you are planning on shooting a film and need a lens for some close ups/emotional shots I think this would be great.

Comments about Canon Zoom Telephoto EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III Autofocus Lens:
Its performance is better when you have lots of light. I'm happy with it though. With 300mm plan to use a tripod or try to set a really fast shutter speed otherwise you'll have some blurred pictures.

Comments about Canon Zoom Telephoto EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III Autofocus Lens:
good range for a low price
good telephoto for wildlife photo
good for isolating a face in a crowd with good bokeh
flashing on zoom is present in video mode on 7D, because aperture is not fixed throughout zoom range, but this is normal for a lens in this price bracket.
lens speed not too great in low light.
