The lightest 4x telephoto zoom lens in its class. Ideal for sports, portraiture, animals, etc. The telephoto effect can make the picture look compressed or have excellent background blur. At the 300mm focal length, you can fill the frame with a postcard from 4.9' away. The Micro-USM autofocus motor is quick, compact and quiet.

This is a great lens for those starting out and needing a long range zoom. It is great for birding, etc as long as it is a sunny day. Overcast days will cause a challenge since the max aperture at 300mm is F6.3. You will probably need a Tri or Mono pod most of the time using this lens.If you can afford it get the IS version.

I was using another telephoto lens, but this one is really great. I enjoy taking photos of people who do not even suspect that are being photographed and this lens is great for the purpose. I love it.

I am new to the photog world & was a little cautious about purchasing a refurbished lens. I purchased a refurbished telephoto lens from B&H and when it arrived I was shocked! It is in great shape, came with all of the paperwork, packaging etc. I would absolutely use B&H again for my photog needs!

This lens will complement my 55-250 zoom. I bought it in preparation for upgrading to a full size sensor camera on which my EF-S lenses won't work. I haven't had a chance to use it much yet but the construction seems solid and the autofocus is fast and accurate. And, the price can't be beat!

The lens operates quietly, and was just what I was looking for in a landscape / nature photography lens. It is a great match to my Canon Rebel camera.

Comments about Canon Zoom Telephoto EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III USM Autofocus Lens:
I have been using my new 70-300 to take portrait photos at the beach. It's a little soft on focus around 300mm, but still correctable in any photo manipulation software. For the [$] I paid for it, it's def. a keeper. I purchased it from the Used department at BH. It came sealed in a factory canon box fresh from where ever it was serviced. The lens is a bit slow on focus when you're dealing with smaller objects at distance (birds, superman, leprechauns) and the minimal focal length will definitely having you reaching for your stock 18-55 on occasion that shipped with your t3i.The lens is built solid, decent without IS - though I haven't tried video mode with it. I got some great moon shots and sunset photos at about 3 feet in altitude since I was at the beach. I recommend the lens for the hobbiest. Professionals will need to look elsewhere.

Not the best lens for the price. The 55-250 is a much sharper lens.

This lens has low cost but gives high benefits with color quality and good definition. I use it to photograph children at certain distance in natural form without they are pending of the camera. it is also excellent to photograph animals.

Comments about Canon Zoom Telephoto EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III USM Autofocus Lens:
I bought this lens for a few specific purposes as well as to take zoomed pictures in general; I bought it to photograph hockey games and to take on a trip to Thailand.
So far I am very impressed with it considering the cost. Ideally, I would purchase a lens with Image Stabalization as well but that is not in my budget. The lens takes notably better pictures in high light conditions and after about 250 mm it has trouble focusing but other than that I am very impressed so far. For anyone who can't afford a high end lens I definitely recommend this one!
