I use this turntable for playback of my vinyls not scratching. The sound quality and stereo / Fidelity is superb. The reason I bought it was because I am an avid vinyl collector and need a turntable that will keep up with my daily demands. Unlike my past ones where the motors kept burning up. This one has a massive 14.5 watt power supply & direct drive motor that are meant to for industrial applications so I know it will hold up for years. Plus the speed is kept constant with a quartz lock. This is by far the best turntable & the last turntable I will buy I strongly advise you to get one it is expensive but its worth the money.

I have been listening to records my whole life and have dreamed of owning the "1200" since first listening to albums on my uncle's as a child.
When I heard Panasonic were discontinuing the line I knew I had to get one while I still had the chance. Rarely in life are your expectations met but in this case all those years of dreaming were SURPASSED!
If you are willing to put a little extra time into fine-tuning the arm adjustments you will be well rewarded. Running through a tiny pre-amp into my modern receiver (without a proper phono input) the sound quality and volume blow away my previous Technics direct-drive unit (which also had a top-notch needle).
I had struggled to justify the price tag but one listen and the lightness of my wallet was completely forgotten. Well worth the money for those serious about their music.

I feel lucky to own two of these TT, since Panasonic/Technics discontinued it at the end of 2010.
Known as a gold standard of DJ tables, it's actually underestimated as the true state-of-the-art in audiophile turntables...with some modifications-- a high-end tonearm and cartridge.
