Comments about Photogenic PG3001MLB Studio-Max 100 Watt/Second Monolight:
I ordered a Photogenic, received a Medalight. The description says they are the same, but I had never heard of this brand before. Photogenic doesn't even list this little light on their website.
This light replaced a speedlight as a hair light. At 1.5 lbs, it's small enough to put on my boom without having to worry about over-balancing. Even at just 40 watts, the modelling light does the job - a great boon over the speedlight.
I haven't had it long enough to rate it's durability. The plastic body seems sturdy enough.
I was considering getting three of these - a hair light and two background lights, but I thought I'd try one out first. So far, I still think I might get two more for background lights.
At 1/4 power, I still had to lose two more stops in camera, so I wish it had a couple stops more adjustment.

Comments about Photogenic PG3001MLB Studio-Max 100 Watt/Second Monolight:
This works great as a background light. I've been using my first one for about two years, have knocked it over several times, and it still works. The only bad part about this light is you can't change the flash tube.

Comments about Photogenic PG3001MLB Studio-Max 100 Watt/Second Monolight:
Darn nice hairlight. I get all the output I need set at only 1/4 output. What I really like as a location shooter, is that this unit is so light weight, It dosent require a counter balence on the boom arm. I have been using this light for only two weeks.

Comments about Photogenic PG3001MLB Studio-Max 100 Watt/Second Monolight:
The product is good, but it does´nt have slave button. It´s a little difficult to work with that, because I use radio slaves, but monolight sensor still "reed" any other flash.

Comments about Photogenic PG3001MLB Studio-Max 100 Watt/Second Monolight:
Great kicker/accent light to have as an extra hair light or even to use as a main light for a dramatic "Hollywood" look. Only down fall is it does not take a great beating, if it tips over more then 4 times it can be done and needs to be replaced. I advise a sturdy light stand!!!
