A synthetic PVC material with beautiful, smoothly graduated backgrounds that afford interesting lighting effects. In a few minutes, a photographer can achieve beautiful effects that would take hours with lights and single-tone backgrounds.
Each sheet is individually handmade to achieve a silky matte, non-glare surface.
The material and colors do not absorb water, so they can be used with ice cubes, fruit, flowers etc. They can be cleaned with a mild soap solution and soft cloth, making Flotone reusable.

I use this product for photographing turned wood art objects such as vases, bowls, platters, and other vessels. The graduation is very uniform and truly neutral so it does not impart a color cast to the item being photographed. It is stiff enough to be used without a support underneath for most items, but works best if you have a curved sweep to place behind it. Rough items can leave white scratches in the finish, but I have taken care to not scratch it -- besides the most likely area o get scratched is the bottom edge which is white where scratches do not show. It is made of heavy duty plastic sheet and can be cleaned with a wet rag if it gets dirty.

Would be a bit easier to use with a stand, but after taping it to the wall and lighting the piece right, the background is great for a generic backdrop for various different sculptures and ceramic pieces. I recommend all ceramic artists to have one if they send pictures for submission to a gallery; it definitely adds uniformity to the piece, and showcases your work--not your background!

This product is great it eliminates the need to create a gradient background in Photoshop. The product is subject to nicks and scratches. So be careful. Otherwise, its great.
