These tapes won't produce the same kind of quality that the pro mini-dv tapes do, but they work great if you have a lot to shoot.
I mostly just shoot conferences and interviews, both of which end up going on the internet, where quality is compressed and reduced anyways.
These are pretty good for weddings as well. There isn't that much more noticeable from the average viewer's perspective, so most of the time people won't notice. Where the pro stuff comes in handy is grabbing still frames and having them at a crisp quality (part of which is also due to your camera).
The labels that come with the tapes are also fairly large enough for me to write the time, date, and title of what we are shooting. Sometimes other tape brands just give you a long bar to write that all on.
The tapes also come with a hard plastic case which I like better than the soft plastic ones.
"Knock on wood" Out of almost 200 tapes, not a single dropped frame yet.
Overall my only complaint (and me being very nit picky) with them is that the plastic wrapping on the cases is a bit tedious to get off, especially when you need them quick and are trying to be quiet at the same time.

I use this product to record instructional materials and a K-12 TV show. For the price these tapes aren't bad. I still prefer a Sony version of this mini-DV tape.

I still use a Min DVC camcorder to video for the state and government jobs. This product fits my Panasonic PV-GS 400 very well. I shoot for hours at a time and the tapes are reliable. I feel that Panasonic does not move away from quality. It stands on its name and I hope this product will not be discontinued. I only wish that Panasonic would come out with a new hybrid of the Panasonic PV-GS400; One that records both DVC and SD chips.Alex A.video.services.inc[@]

The Panasonic Mini DV cassettes are a low price quality product. I buy them in bulk and have never had a problem with them. I never reuse the tapes so am not sure if they lose quality over time though.
