I bought this background to photograph my porcelain pottery. I had a professional photographer and she just kept commenting on how much of a difference the background made. I got the images a couple days ago, and they look great. I really feel the background makes the product shots look very professional. I highly recommend it. The only problem I had was that it does scratch easily. This isn't a problem though if your product is typically placed in the same spot as the scratch will be covered by the piece. I will say that having read reviews for other backgrounds first it seems the scratching problem is not specific to this one, but really to the paper backgrounds in general.

this is a great backdrop particularly for smaller work. I usually use a paper backdrop that needs 8-10' and careful lighting to achieve the gradation. Also it seems much more duable than the paper.

I'm a 3-D artist who needs consistent pictures for juried shows and website. I found this background to be the easiest way to accomplish, what used to be, a trying feat. Handle with care, it scratches easy. Great product for those who don't have the time to fuss with getting a clean graduated effect.

While I am basically a wildlife and landscape photographer, to help a friend I recently decided to get into studio, still-life photography. I selected the Flotone graduated backdrop because I wanted something more durable than a paper backdrop. It has already proven to be a great choice, and the Thunder Bay color is exactly what is called for in taking pictures of pottery and jewelry. I cut it to fit my light box, and used velcro hook and loop fasteners to keep it in place. I have not yet noticed any negative aspects of this product, and would highly recommend it to others.

I really love this...I take pics of my sculptures using it, and it gives me the effect I'm looking for. Only downside is that it scratches easily.....so be careful...other than that, perfect.

I use this as a background when photographing my pottery. The color is very soft, the surface uniform. It seems a bit easy to scratch, but the scratch I made did not show on my photos.

I use this background to photograph my woodturnings for my portfolio and to send with applications to juried art shows and potential customers.The material that this background is composed of is heavy and feels very durable.[...]As I use this only occasionally I store it to keep it clean. I would like to see the addition of grommets or hooks to make it easier to hang.

i use the background to photograph ceramic sculptures. it works great,and is exactly what is pictured. it has a nice thickness to it and the gradation is perfect. it can scratch easily.

This is a nicely gradated background. Could be a bit bigger and a tad more durable - it scratches fairly easitly - but, it's a good quality product. Great to use when shooting small objects where creating a gradated background with flags and scrims is difficult and time-consuming to achieve.

I purchased this after seeing a similar item on a website. It made the product stand out beautifully. Upon receipt of the background I immediately set it up. It's only flaw is that it does scratch easily so you have to be very careful with the products you place on it. I use a piece of felt that I place under the items I am shooting. Seems to have helped greatly. It adds dramatically to to the products that I am shooting and I am planning on ordering several more.

I photographed all kinds of ceramic pieces for a potters' guild on this background. The results were terrific! The width and length easily accommodated each piece and the subtle gradation of the background enhanced the look of every image.
