Comments about Dry Lam Colortac Dry Mounting Tissue (24.5" x 50yd Roll ):

Until I found this product my mounting press needed to be set at 210 degrees, this was fine when mounting my black and white photos, color RC paper and prints from my Epson printer looked like there was a slight color shift because of the high temperature. Colortac Mounting tissue only needs a setting of 165 degrees and I see no color shift at all.

    Pros

    Cons

    • Removal leaves a residue

    Best Uses

    • Low-temp applications

Comments about Dry Lam Colortac Dry Mounting Tissue (24.5" x 50yd Roll ):

I use Colortac to mount large (24" x 60") fine art ink jet photos. The low temp (I use 170 degrees) does not effect the inks but adheres well to museum board and foamcore. My press is 18" x 24" so it takes several passes. This can lead to minor overlap marks. I just put the print back in the press and the mark is gone.
Removal (at 210 degrees) is not quite so easy but doable (thus they can call it archival, but most experts say no mounting tissue is truely archival).
It is definitly the best low temp tissue I've seen.

Comments about Dry Lam Colortac Dry Mounting Tissue (24.5" x 50yd Roll ):

I was looking for a dry mount tissue compatable with ink jet photo paper and this is the one. For more than half the price of the others it does the same job. I mount prints at approx. 180 degrees or less for 1 1/2 minutes for a complete bond and no damage to to print. The tissue looks like white Kraft paper, not translucent like all the other tissues I have used but don't let that bother you. It works exactly the same. I always put pressure on the print untill it cools but don't know if it is necessary. Good stuff--good price.
