The OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Small is designed to fit a lens and shade with a diameter from approximately 3.25-3.5". Simply placing the Hood Hat onto the front of the hood while in place will provide just as much protection for the critical front lens elements as would be provided by a traditional lens cap. The neoprene material will adjust to fit both round and elliptical "petal-type" shades.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Small:
Just what I needed to fit over the lens hood of my camera. It's easy to use and offers additional protection to my equipment while climbing and shooting in rough environments.
The only possible alteration/suggestion would be a tether of sorts after removal during those quick shots.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Small:
I purchased this for my Canon WP-DC42 underwater housing (which fits my Canon SX230 HS camera) to use as a "port cover" (the area on the housing where the lens on the camera looks through). This is a perfect fit and will protect the large "port" from scratches during transport and entry into/exit out of the water. I plan to keep the hood hat on the "port" until I am in the water and will put the hood hat in a pocket or clip it to my BC. This size fits perfectly and is a little snug so I do not think it will come loose in the water.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Small:
The hood, DOES not offer the same protection as a lens caps. That said, it does protect against against dust and dirt. Above all, is used reasonably, it is much cheaper than a lens cap, if lost. I use it on both my lens.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Small:
I use this as a substitute for a lens cap. I attach it to my camera with a lanyard (not included) so that it never gets lost. There is a small, study loop sewn on the hood hat for this purpose. The hood hat itself is made from moderately dense foam material which protects my lens barrel when I put my camera down someplace. It doesn't, however, protect the glass from being damaged by a direct strike with something hard as well as a hard lens cover.

I love these things, but you need to order one size larger than you think you need. I have a 3 1/2 inch lens and it needed to be the medium size to cover the lens even though the description said it would fit.

I bought this lens hood to use with my Canon 55 - 200 zoom while the lens has the lens hood on. It was easy to get on and solves the problem of not being able to use a lens cap with the lens hood. I plan to order one for my other lenses as well.
I have only had it for a couple of weeks so I haven't found anything not good about it yet.

this fits a 3.5" lens shade quite well.... like it lots! has a little eyelet to attach with a cord to camera ( so we won't lose it like we did the last)

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Small:
These Hood Hats (I own 3) are superior to rigid lens caps. They're harder to lose since they don't fall off like rigid lens caps do when you accidentally mis-install them. They also provide extra protection for the hood and lens and easily stuff down into your pocket when shooting. This is a great idea; a very clever and useful product.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Small:
I had a larger version of the Hood Hat for an old Nikon 400/3.5. I got this one for my Tamron 14/2.8. It works well. Just remember that the "top" is only neopreme, so there is no "hard" surface to protect the outer lens element.

Keeps your lens dry and dust free, but it's hard to pull on.
