The OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Medium is designed to fit a lens and shade with a diameter from approximately 3.5-4.0". Simply placing the Hood Hat onto the front of the hood while in place will provide just as much protection for the critical front lens elements as would be provided by a traditional lens cap. The neoprene material will adjust to fit both round and elliptical "petal-type" shades.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Medium:
My medium Hood Hat goes on and off easily. It excels in situations where one needs protection between spurts of shooting. Even with the lens hood inverted over the lens, the Hat help keep dust off the front of the lens.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Medium:
The Hood Hat had a benefit that I did not realize when I ordered the Mini-sized Hood Hat. I found that it not only protects the front of the lens, is easy to take off, but keeps my zoom lens from creeping. It is quick to put the Hat on and take the Hat off and provides protection between each shot.

Easy slip cover for your lens, extra protection from bumps, etc. What I like about it is that you can throw it over your lens and the hood as opposed to a lens cap that can be tricky to mount on the lens when you have the hood on.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Medium:
I use a Voigtlander 21mm f/4 LTM lens with its rectangular hood (LH-1). Trying to put a 39mm lens cap on the front of the lens with the hood installed is a challenge. This little hat lets me keep the hood on at all times, and yet prevents me from having to worry about the sun burning a hole in my shutter curtain if I walk around with an uncapped lens (I use a Leica IIF or IIIG, both of which have cloth shutters). It is bulky enough that you will not forget to remove it when actually shooting.
For the Voigtlander 35mm f/2.5 with its LH-2 hood, I use the small version of the hood hat. The same excellent results ensue!

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Medium:
These Hood Hats (I own 3) are superior to rigid lens caps. They're harder to lose since they don't fall off like rigid lens caps do when you accidentally mis-install them. They also provide extra protection for the hood and lens and easily stuff down into your pocket when shooting. This is a great idea; a very clever and useful product. This is a repeat of my review for the small Hood Hat.

Much easier slipping this on and off than reaching inside the hood trying to remove/install the lens cap. Good fit.

The perfect solution for a lens that requires a screw on hood. With the hood hat it is no longer necessary to to take the hood off to store it, when not in use.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Medium:
I have these on all my lenses and fit these around the reversed hoods. That extra bit of foam gives me peace of mind when they're in the camera case, so that hard edges aren't banging against each other. Buy one size smaller than you think you need because they eventually stretch-out a bit.

Simple to use.
Protects against unexpected bumps.
Several sizes, measure the lens diameter including shade.
Folds/compresses into smaller size - store in a pocket when not in use.
