The OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Large is designed to fit a lens and shade with a diameter from approximately 4.0-4.5". Simply placing the Hood Hat onto the front of the hood while in place will provide just as much protection for the critical front lens elements as would be provided by a traditional lens cap. I use this hat on my Sigma 100-300 F4 lens, I always have the hood on it and it is a pain to use a normal clip on lens cap. With this hat it just pulls over the hood, easy to remove for shooting.

Have used all sizes of Op/Tech Hood Hats. Snug fit even over lens hoods yet easy to put on or take off quickly. Great protection from bumps and scrapes. Do not compromise space in photo backpacks.

No more fumbling for buttons or searching my pockets for a lens cap. With the Hood Hat, its ON, its OFF! No hassle. I have the large and small sizes, a couple of each, to cover all my lenses. Great investment and top value for the money. A simple, effective solution.

I use hood hats on every lens in place of a lens cap. I use them when walking around with the camera. They do not fall off as the snap on lens caps do.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Large:
I use this on the hood of my Canon 24-70 2.8 L lens. I keep the hood on the lens at all times, and too many times in the past I have started to use the camera only to see a black viewfinder because I forgot to take the lens cap off! That will not happen with the hood hat. A fast tug and it is off. Also, it gives much better sealing off of dust from getting into the hood. I measured the diameter of my hood, then bought the hat with the size specs that matched. I do not agree with buying a hat a size smaller than what is given in the specs. It fits rather tight as is, and I cannot believe one size down would fit at all. So I suggest you measure your hood carefully, and order the hat whose specs match your hood dimensions.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Large:
This item is great when you use a thin polarizer on a wide angle lens. It fits right over the lens hood so you can protect you lens when you can't put the cap on it. Since it's large, it covers most of the lens so when you remove the lens you can put it in you vest pocket or camera bag with less chance of marring the lens. It's a very versatile product for a low price.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Large:
I saw these Hood Hats mentioned in a [@] article and decided to try one. I prefer to leave the lenshood on when I'm out shooting, but don't like leaving expensive glass exposed. I've used this on both my 70~200 and 24~70 and am delighted. It's just a bit of a challenge to put on, but stays on perfectly, protects like I expected and comes right off for a quick shot.
