Crown Audio PZM-11 - Wall Plate Mountable Security Microphone with Line-Level Unterminated Pigtail Connection (White)
The Crown PZM-11 LL version of the PZM-11 reproduces audio at line level signal, allowing direct connection to line level inputs.
The Crown PZM-11 pressure zone microphone designed for fixed installation in restaurants, toll booths, box offices, outdoor intercoms, home automation applications and more. The hemispherical polar pattern, delivers clear signal response at the direct and indirect sections of the microphone. The PZM-11 will conveniently install into a standard electrical outlet box and is powered with 12 - 24V AC or DC power. The microphone's connections are screw terminal type and are labeled, Audio + / Audio - and Ground for easy installation.

- The PZM-11LL outputs signal at line level, eliminating the need for microphone level input devices such as mixers and microphone preamplifiers.

- The microphone conveniently installs into a standard electrical outlet box and features labeled screw terminal connections for easy installation.

- The frequency response is tailored so that low frequency noise due to cars and street noise are eliminated and frequencies associated with voice are accentuated.

I needed a high quality microphone for a surveillance installation, to record speech. I looked into this Crown unit because I have been very happy with other phantom-powered PZM microphones they offer. This one is great for voice band, it has line level output so no need for extra microphone preamplification, and it can be phantom powered. Even 12 V power from a camera system will work nicely. AC or DC does not matter for this unit, neither does power polarity due to the built in rectification stage. One less mistake to make. Great mike.

Have dozens of these on campus, have been using them for years.. Incredible value, easy to power, relatively obscure. Can send audio hundreds of feet. Nothing negative to say about these workhorses.

If you don't use a preamp be prepaired to solder the correct resistor in place for volume control.
