I purchased 5 of these for a group discussion. 4 out of the 5 arrived with the plastic clips that hold on the boundary plate broken. They didn't really pick out voices well at all. I hung a few shotgun mics around and captured what I needed.

I record meeting with anywhere from 10 - 20 people sitting at u shaped tables. With 6 mics I am able to record everything being said, and in some cases even things that are believed to be whispered. Up untill now I have been renting similar, but much older mic's, and they were never any where close to this quality.

We used this product to record student interviews and the voice recordings are clear with no background noise. It's easy to use and small and relatively unobtrusive in an interview situation. The only thing we didn't love was that the volume on the recording is a little quiet compared to the other microphone we used, even after adjusting the volume on the camera.
