I bought this accessory with a certain degree of trepidation; I really wasn't sure if it was going to be useful enough to justify the price.
Still, after doing contortions and squinting into the eyepiece of a camera set up close to the ground for some macro photography, I felt that there had to be a better way and perhaps the Angle Finder C would provide it.
It did. The device is very useful for avoiding uncomfortable positions and thus being able to concentrate more on the image and less on my about-to-give-out back. The image through the viewer is clear, and the 2.5x magnification option helps greatly with manual focusing.
I now find myself using it increasing for more conventional shooting at head height on a tripod; being able to look into the viewfinder from the side or slightly above or below adds a welcome alternative.
The unit seems reasonably well made without being strikingly solid or heavy. It fits easily onto the eyecup holder of my Rebel XT, 30D or 40D, and stays securely in place once installed. There's easy rotational movement of the side arm through 360 degrees, although the arm only 'clicks' into position for limited number of angles, but enough for all purposes I have yet used the Angle Finder.
The eyecup is comfortable, certainly as comfortable as those on the binocular microscope I use at work. I would say that my long time use of microscopes makes me take to the Angle Finder much more easily than might be otherwise; using it is very similar to using a monocular microscope.
It would be nice if the unit 'swung' out to provide angle options outside of 90 degrees to the camera's line of sight, but I imagine the optics required for this would add considerably to the size and price. As it is, regardless of where the Angle Finder is positioned in its perpendicular motion, the image you see through it is always of that of a conventional view through the view finder. Using it, I tend to forget that I am actually looking through an extra set of glass elements, making it essentially transparent in use as well as in optics.

Good for picture of hard-to-reach places
Sometimes the ground is just to wet or dirty (or your clothes are too good) to lie on the sand and take a picture of a beautiful flower: enter the angle-finder!

Also very good for taking street-picture, as most people are accustomed to the photographer looking at them through the lens, instead of looking down.
Radial rotation is a little too easy, a stiffer rotation would have made the Angle Finder C a little more robust

Comments about Canon Angle Finder C:
Very usefull when taking macro shots and the camera is in a position that you can't see through the camera view finder or with the camera in a low position. Clarity of the view is brilliant and the 2.5x magnification ensures your focus is spot on especially when manually focusing.

Angle Finder C is great for taking shot of Flowers from the bottom, lying on grass, on water level and many more. Before I was thinking how do I take a flower shot from the bottom towards sky or towards sun. Angle Finder C is a perfect solution for everything you need ground.

Comments about Canon Angle Finder C:
Lying down on the ground to frame a photo is way too inconvenient most of the time -- if even possible. On a recent photo shoot, it caused me to miss the shot I was hoping for. I knew I needed to get the angle finder, and I'm glad I did. Very handy in both portrait and landscape mode.

Comments about Canon Angle Finder C:
Bought this for low angle shooting. Better to just get your knees dirty than lying flat on your stomach. I was concerned that the angle finder would be to large and to heavy but I was pleased with the size and weight. It exceeded expectations and makes for a very bright viewfinder that simplifies confirming focus. The 2x magnifier is very helpful for focusing. The rotation is a bit loose but not a problem. I expect to use this much more than I had originally anticipated.

This product is great for getting up close for shots that are down low without wrecking your back. I bought this to replace an older model that was lost and it's got a couple of improvements that I really like. The older model swiveled far too easily - it was really easy to knock it off the proper position simply by putting your face to it. This model has a stronger lock into position. The diopter adjustment used to be a small knurled knob that was difficult to access. In this model the diopter adjustment is accomplished by turning the horizontal cylinder.

I use this when shooting low angle shots, especially handy when you need to set camera on ground to get the shot - makes hard to reach views so much easier, highly recommend!

If you dabble in macro/close-up photography, the Angle C Finder is a must. It opens a brand new field of exploration (at ground level!) that was not quite comfortably accessible before.

Comments about Canon Angle Finder C:
This angle finder would have to be one of the most clever accessory on the market. It should actually be recommended to photographers by chiropactors and the like.
Shooting macro or whenever the camera is mounted on a tripod, becomes a breeze with no contortions of the neck and back in order to look through the viewfinder.
Can be adjusted also for your eyes (or in my case, lack of good eyes) and the money saved from osteopaths' visits will allow for better spending...hopefully, a new lens???

Comments about Canon Angle Finder C:
I have started using the viewfinder and don't know how I did without it. I am interested in macro shots which often necessitate getting down low. Now I don't need to virtually get down on my stomach to line up the shot. I would recommend this to anyone with similar photographic interests.

I was hoping for a finder that would allow me to take discreet street photos. It is not much help in that area, but it is perfect for low angle and weird angle shots.

Comments about Canon Angle Finder C:
After reading over several reviews on the web and talking with colleagues about the various Right Angle Finder that would potentially interface with my Canon camera, I decided on the Right Angle Finder C by Canon. As has often been the case in the past, when everything else is equal, or often even when the price point might be a tad higher, I like buying from B&H. They've been in business for many years, which these days speaks volumes.[...] As always, purchasing it was less expensive than it would have been from other choices, [...] The item [...] works up to my expectations and as mentioned in other reviews I had read on the web. I highly recommend both the Right Angle Finder C by Canon as well as B&H Photo for the reasons mentioned.

Comments about Canon Angle Finder C:
It great for macro photography or if something needs to be shot at a low angle. While tripod legs can get our camera low to the ground we can't always do so with our body, this viewer will solve the problem. A nice feature is that it can be used at different angles so that photos can be taken either vertically or horizontally with ease. It comes with an adaptor which permits it to be used with different size viewfinders which depending on the camera model that you own could prove useful. I like the 1.25x-2.5x magnification feature.

Comments about Canon Angle Finder C:
This is my second Canon Angle Finder C (I got it for my wife so I can continue using mine!) It is one of the best accessories for close up or macro photography. The product is very well made, rotates with sufficient friction to accommodate different camera positions. The rotating eyepiece allows for diopter adjustments for users vision and an extra magnification lever facilitates fine focusing. Highly recommended.
