I bought more of this pick and pluck foam to replace the foam in my Pelican 1470 cases. The foam gets pretty beat up, at least how we're using it. If one takes proper care, though, the foam can last quite a long time. The foam is pretty easy to use, very intuitive to get started without having to read the directions. This kit is designed for the Pelican 1470 case, but if the dimensions work, it could also be used elsewhere. The center layer foam doesn't pluck out half-height, only top to bottom. When working with the foam, I notice a high level of static build up. This concerns me, as we use it with computers and electronics, but without any special static protection used, we have yet to lose any equipment, even after months of heavy use. My only gripe is related to price and what's included. I feel it's over priced, but I blame Pelican for this, [...]I feel that B&H's price is really quite fair, all things considered. Also, this foam kit comes with all three layers, the top corrugated layer, the bottom thin layer, and the center pick and pluck layer. I only need the center layer, as it's the only one that really takes a beating. So having to pay for the other two layers seems unnecessary, but that's how the kit comes. I'm unaware if there is a way to purchase only the center layer. [...]
