Have two of the 6400 model units. Beat them to death for four years in a studio. They still work great today. Good price. If they die I will replace with the same.

Comments about SP Studio Systems Excalibur 6400 - 640 Watt/Second Monolight (120VAC):
I own the 1600 and the 6400. The 6400's capacitors go out regularly. After the warranty goes out cost approx. [$]to get it repaired. Never have trouble with the 1600's. Have had them for about 4 years. The 6400's been repaired about 10 times. Shopping for a different brand today.
Comments about SP Studio Systems Excalibur 6400 - 640 Watt/Second Monolight (120VAC):
I purchased the 6400 kit three years ago and they have performed well. They have one issue; they can blow out capacitors without a surge protector installed on each light so use one. They are sensitive to voltage fluctuations. I blew out one light, sent it in for repair and it has performed flawlessly ever since, so always use a surge protector on each light and you will have no problems.I drag them around on many location shoots and they always work.
Items I Recommend: Surge protector
