The Lowel id-Light is the world's first focusable and dimmable camera-top light. It provides increased versatility, especially in news and documentary use where lighting conditons may change quickly. Its 20KHz dimmer provides graceful dimming with no electronic interference in the camera.

The Lowel ID light is a minimal investment that will transform the way you take photos. I am a wedding photographer and having an assistant carry this light for existing light photography makes for great photographs. In combination with the Nikon D3 and the Lowel ID, it's like having a portable studio. The ID is very sturdy, easy to use, has a dimmer switch, and can use tons of accessories. It can be mounted on a handle for your assistant, on a tripod and any other areas. The dimmer switch is great because you can spot focus or light a wide area. The light works great if you are taking "detail" shots at a reception and the lights are very low. The optional barn doors are also very sturdy, versatile, and are easity mounted. Anyone who takes photos in existing light will appreciate the versatility of the Lowel ID.

I use ID light when shooting weddings. It really helps to save time setting up lights for portraits.
The quality of light is also great. Not like LED light, the picture looks great after white balance adjust.

Previously used another brand and got this for the focus and dimming controls. Well worth it. Light, travels well, good quality light. Dimmer adds no noise to recording.
Got cigarette lighter connection, in case need power from vehicle. Recommend two - adds some dimension to quick set up location and doc. lighting.

I have my assistant use this light for my wedding photography. It gives me the ability to do a vignette style without having to digitally create it on the computer. Focusable so it can be used on detail ring shots as flood for group and couple shots. It is also light enough that it can be carried around for the full day/evening without breaking your back or shoulder! Highly recommended!Steph[@]

I'll be using this for Wedding photography.
Good solid construction - very well built.
On hindsight I should have perhaps gone for the other power connection type as it will probably be a more robust connection I suspect.
Only downside on the product itself is that the power cable could be longer - once this light is mounted on a boom of some kind (I use a cheap lightweight monopod held in reverse - the light mounts easily to the foot of the monopod) the cable is a bit short.

I am so glad I purchased this product! I used it last weekend on a cold rainy Vancouver day and it worked so well lighting my model with a soft natural light for a RE-WEAR the DRESS wedding session. We used it indoors in a club and outside in a barn.
The lighting was consistent and the photos are beautiful. Awesome!

This light is so versatile I would recommend it to anyone. Takes 100w and 50w dc and 250 ac lights and has lots of power options. Very high quality build. More than I expected. A little heavier though. Might not work easily on a small camera.
I wish I knew that there were different options for power before purchasing. The ac power cable has different connectors from lowel. Not sure if bh carries them.
Very bright in daylight and usable as a fill for about 10 feet away with a full ctb gel on it. Great that I can power it from the car if need be.

good construction quality. it's dimmable, one of the greatest features of this light.
it's a bit heavy, it really pulls down my xh a1.
the focus handle is a bit loose and there's a metal sound if I lower the camera too much, but I guess i can fix that with a bit of tape.
the cigarette plug is nice as well, great to use it in any car.
