I previously had a Lowepro Minitrekker backpack which was really disadvantageous for street photography, wherein I needed to change lenses quickly without having to lay the bag on the ground. I went ahead and bought the Olive Domke F2 after reading a lot of reviews. Opening the package, I had mixed feelings about the product, which are as follow.
- The bag is built out of seemingly durable material (heavy canvas) which will last forever, but I am not so sure of the stiching quality (I see loose threads sticking out).
- Some of the hoops are made from plastic which really turned me off. They could have used metal at the least.
- There is enough space for few lenses and a body but not for longer lenses (200 mm+) especially with the body attached.
- Olive color is awesome to maintain a low key.
-The size and form of the bag is perfect for walk-around photography, but definitely not for hiking kind of stuff.
-The broad shoulder strap is pretty good and spreads out the weight on the shoulder without pinching the skin.
-The bag priced at approx $100 is tad expensive. I would have really liked it to be around $75.

A little small for cameras
The size of digital SLR and Film SLR cameras was grossly underestimated. It is a tight fit.

Have had this model Domke for over 30 years. Travelled many countries and used under all conditions. It's battered and ragged but it's still going. (Kinda like me.) A replacement is likely soon as the wife is starting to make derogatory comments!

Comments about Domke F-2 Original Shoulder Bag (Olive Drab):
It's a great, excellently-made, intelligently designed bag. Very cool color.
For sizing purposes, I'm able to get one SLR body (no lens attached), 3 lenses barely fit in the 4-pocket insert (17-40, 70-200 f4.0 and a 24mm TS-E) and in the 4th compartment a ball head, 1.4 tele-converter and telephoto hood. I am also just barely able to squeeze in a newly added 17mm TS-E beside the insert, though this may become intolerably snug in time. In the front pockets I put CF card holders. End pockets hold a charger on one end and wide angle hoods in the other. And odd filters, stuff in the top.
I mention all this because I am considering a bigger bag, and tried a F-1x but it didn't work. Next "bag" will probably be a Pelican case.

Comments about Domke F-2 Original Shoulder Bag (Olive Drab):
I bought this bag with the intention of using it as a walk around bag, instead of my usual backpack. However, I was worried at first that it might not be able to hold my medium format gear, was surprised though when it arrived at just how much it was able to fit.
It comfortably holds an RZ67 with back + 110mm attached, spare 120 back in the side pouch, light meter, 180mm and 50mm lenses + 15-20 rolls of film.

Comments about Domke F-2 Original Shoulder Bag (Olive Drab):
No question this bag holds a lot more than you would think. I specifically did not want a back pack type bag and this was just what I wanted. I think it would be very helpful if they would include some ways to load the bag for the greatest efficiency ... that is a personal choice but there are probably ways that are better than others. I don't know how you get two bodies in the center of the bag with lenses. I know that I am going to get may years of good use from the bag!

I purchased this bag to carry my DSLR camera, two lenses, and a flash. Still plenty of room for other gear. I like Domke bags because they are durable, protect my photo gear extremely well, and it is easy to design as needed. Can't think of a thing bad about this bag.

If your only going to take one bag This is the one.
I think it's the best bag out there, I've taken mine all over Spain, China, Netherlands, even camping all over the west, not a scratch on it tough as nails.

F-2 Shoulder Bag is a great DSLR bag. I mainly shoot video and all of my gear fits snugly in the many compartments. The bag was a bit smaller than I had hoped, but it does the job. It's very rugged and seems like it will last for many years to come.

Comments about Domke F-2 Original Shoulder Bag (Olive Drab):
Love the canvas. Thought it would be too big and it is a bit but the smaller option is not to my liking. If you want the extra insert get the one for the F6, the one for the F-2, unless you remove the bottom is too high..the one of the F6 is about perfect. I had to return the original insert for the new one which is doing what I want it to do.
Domke bags have always been my favorites.

Got this bag as a light weight option to lug around instead of my Pelican hard case. Takes my D-300 (with extended grip), 80-200, 50mm, and 18-120 lenses, flash, and several accessories with no problems. End compartments hold battery charger and extra batteries. Side pockets hold meter and other gadgets. Very pleased with bag.

I haven't had a chance to get much use out of this as yet, but it replaces a F2 Domke bag I owned for at least 20 years, so I am confident this replacement will fit the bill.
My previous F2 bag, believe it or not, was attacked by a mouse (or mice), and got chewed up so to speak. So it was time for a replacement.

D80 with 18-270m attached, 3 or 4 other lenses, sb-900, room for extras. This bag does the trick. I am very happy with the design, weight and look of the bag. Does not advertise that you're carrying a bunch of expensive equipment. Padding could be a bit better on outer walls, but then you would give up the ability for the bag to form fit and mold to your side. I love the bag and will buy another one in a different color for my other gear. Bag is a bit stiff when you get it but does not take long to break it in.

This bag has been around for decades and the fact that it remains largely unchanged is a testament to its utility. I prefer to remove all the inserts and use Domke wraps. The bag is flexible and hold more than I care to carry for extended periods of time. I highly recommend this product for the seasoned pro to the casual photographer.

This bag is every thing I expected. It doesn't look boxy like so many camera bags. It would be helpful if the snaps were quick release.

Comments about Domke F-2 Original Shoulder Bag (Olive Drab):
I like so many things about this bag! I have room for my Canon 50D, plus an 80-200mm, either on the camera or off plus three other lenses, 2 batteries and a charger, lens cleaning kit etc. I wanted a bag that would fit my camera with a battery grip and my long lens attached. I like the color and softness and the way it doesn't bounce around when I carry it. I had gotten the "a little smaller" bag first and will use it for short day trips when I know what I will be photographing. The clips are a little troublesome at times but I mostly just use the velcro. I still have some extra room with all the above mentioned articles thrown in...oh, and of course my manual and a field guide. It is easy to get my camera out of this bag in a hurry...all in all I am VERY satisfied with it! I like the fact that it is not black and does not look like a camera bag.

Comments about Domke F-2 Original Shoulder Bag (Olive Drab):
This bag holds more than one might think. It has nice deep outside pockets that hold flashes, remotes, batteries, etc.. The inside is very versatile and will hold a pro DSLR with medium lens attached, a couple 2.8 lenses with hoods (up to 70-200 2.8) and a couple other narrower lens or other odds and ends. The back pocket is good for filter gels and flash diffusers. Lastly the hood zip pocket is a good place to put cards, cables, other smaller loose things.
This bag just feels good to wear and is well thought out. It is no wonder it has been around for so long with little change. The only addition I would add, would be the postal shoulder cushion. It will tame those days when you find out this bag holds more than you think.

I use the F-2 to carry my 5D Mark II, my 50mm (on board), my 70-200mm, my 24-60mm, my 580 II flash, and the cords and cards I need. It holds it all and has a classic "not a camera bag" look that, although it's obviously a camera bag, it gives me more of a feeling of legitimacy, like "he's a pro." All of that and it holds my gear very snugly. I love this bag.
