This is a honeycomb grid attachment for the Bowens Maxilite reflector. The opening of each little section is 3/8", providing a light spread of about 50°.
Grids are essential accessories for any lighting system. A grid alters the shape and intensity of the light output when it is mounted on a light head. Consider a grid as a painter would a brush, or a sculptor would a knife, or chisel.

The 3/8" Honeycomb Grid converts your Bowens Maxilite 65° reflector attachment's light spread into a harder, tightly-controlled, directional light source — perfect for rim lighting & highlights.
I also own the 1/4" Honeycomb Grid and love mixing a mixture of these Grids with a large softbox to create more dramatic lighting effects.
If you already own the Bowens Maxilite attachment or are considering getting one, make sure you invest in Honeycomb Grid attachments. They simply are a must for anyone doing commercial work!
