The Bushnell NatureView Spotting Scope is great for backyard birding or short hikes, and has been a staple in Bushnell's lineup for many years. It provides enough eye relief for most to observe while wearing sunglasses or eyeglasses and includes an SLR camera adapter so that you can frequently photograph with it by just adding your camera's specific T-mount adapter. This NatureView spotting scope can focus on subjects as close as 30' away.

Comments about Bushnell NatureView 2.4"/60mm Spotting Scope Kit:
I like this scope for birdwatching. It's cheap enough to leave in my car all the time and not worry about loss or damage. It's light enough to hike with. It's bright enough for easy viewing, but photographers will probably want a larger diameter scope that lets in more light. (Such a scope would be much heavier and more expensive.)
The straight design is good for use in wet environments because the eyepiece doesn't tilt up and catch all the mist and drizzle.
The roll-up eye cup isn't as nice as Nikons that cost much more, but it really isn't a problem because I take my glasses off when looking through a tripod mounted scope. (You will need a tripod for any scope.)
I do note a bit of chromatic aboration, but it is very slight and doesn't interfere with the view. I'd probably give this scope 4 stairs if it cost more, but it is a fantastic deal at this price.

I would have given 4 1/2 stars, but option not available :).
Star gazing mostly, I'll also be using it with my Nikon and Canon cameras as a telephoto lens. (with T rings) Great for "spotting" , wish it had a bit larger view, but for the limited occasions that I get to use it, I can get to see what i want.

Connected to my Nikon dslr for closeup eagle photos from a distance. Results were better than I expected, but you have to shoot when the light is bright. Nice focus ring. Wish it had a tabletop tripod.
