The Color Heliar has all-metal lens barrel construction & a 10-bladed aperture diaphragm which creates pleasing out-of-focus highlights. Click stop aperture movement at half-stop intervals makes subtle adjustments in exposure or depth-of-field easy.
A standard L-mount is used for this lens, making it compatible with Voigtlander Bessa R & L cameras as well as classic cameras from Leica and Canon with the venerable 39mm screwmount design. If you desire to use this lens with Leica M, Voigtlander Bessa T or Konica Hexar RF cameras, use the adapter ring (catalog number 45BD209A). This lens retains rangefinder and viewfinder coupling with all combinations.

Comments about Voigtlander Telephoto Color Heliar 75mm f/2.5 Manual Focus Screw Mount Lens - for Bessa R & L and Other Screw Mount Rangefinder Cameras - Silver:
This lens fills the void between the 90mm and 50mm for Leica/Contax at a very reasonable price. The adapter makes it work well with the M series Leica rangefinder even though the focus mark does not center on the camera body. On the Leica M8 it is very useful as it is small, light, and gives a very nice close up view at 1m focus. Wide open it is reasonably sharp, but performs at its best when stopped down a bit. Consider this lens if you are using it in well lit conditions like street photography or scenics. As a portrait lens it is fine with film Leicas, but a little tight with the M8.
Expertise: Semi-pro
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: 90mm f2.8 Elmarit
Items I Recommend: IR/UV filter if using it with the Leica M8
