Hoya 62mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter

Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun. Filter factor is between 2.3 and 2.8 (approx. +1.3 stops).

This unique filter is the result of a collaboration between Hoya and respected wildlife photographer, B. Moose Peterson. It combines the advantages of a polarizer with the warming effect of an 81A filter.

Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras (They will also work on manual systems without problems).

Comments about Hoya 62mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter:

I've used this filter for years. I love the way it works. This one is for my wife. She has had another brand that she is not pleased. She always comments on how much better the Moose filter is when she uses it.

Comments about Hoya 62mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter:

I purchased the 62mm (Moose) warm circuar polarizer glass filter by Hoya to use with my 105mm Nikor macro lense since much of my üpclose" shots are taken in the shade. A warming "feel" at the start of processing is important to me. I've used a Moose" filter on my 77mm telephoto lense (purchased from Peterson himself) over ten years ago. That filter was manufactured by Hoya.

Comments about Hoya 62mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter:

I ordered this polariser on the strength of other reviews and have not been dissapointed. Other polarizers I use DO make the sky that deep blue and I didnt notice that effect so strongly with this one but I love the way this one enriches all the colours in a landscape scene. Its quite versatile. Happy to recommend

Comments about Hoya 62mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter:

After manually adding an 81A filter to a whole lot of photos taken with a "standard" circular polarizer one weekend, I read about "the Moose" and was curious to try it. Finally got around to doing so and just one outing convinced me. To say it was a revelation is an understatement--now I'm planning on getting a 77mm warm circular polarizer for the rest of my lenses. While it's not "the" answer to everything you face shooting outdoors, it's a wonderful tool to add to the camera bag, especially if you need a polarizer and plan on taking lots of people shots. I have no reservations about this filter.

Comments about Hoya 62mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter:

I truly love this filter. I recently purchased it for my 20mm Nikkor and 35-70mm Nikkor lens. Talk about warm and pleasing and an excellent color balance. The Hoya "Moose" filter gives my photographs a much more professional look. With the ability to darken a blue sky, give your pix more contrast and eliminate that muddled hazy look that drive a soul crazy while photographing landscapes with the sky as a back drop.

Granted the Hoya "Moose" is a bit pricey, but well worth the price. I have zero vignetting using this gem on my 20mm lens. Smartly constructed and sturdy as an ox, you will love what this does for you and your photo collection.
Don't listen to the critics, just buy it. It is a wonderful addition to anyone's camera bag.
